G1 Climax 29 Betting: Block And Outright Winner Update For July 20th

The next round of the G1 Climax tournament is on Wednesday morning, so I thought I'd publish a catch up post pointing out the latest block and outright winner odds.

Kambi's markets were republished this afternoon following the completion of A Block's fourth round.

I've added an extra column to the table to indicate how many points each wrestlers has. As you can see, the top two - KENTA and Zazuchika Okada - are both at eight points and they share favouritism with Kota Ibushi at 6/4 each.

Those who read this morning's post are sure to be aware that I had remained confident that Will Ospreay would beat Okada in the main event. This was one of the first bets I placed when Kambi published markets for the match last month. As soon as KENTA beat EVIL today, it hit me that Okada was going to get the two points later in the show to set up a clash between the undefeated A block wrestlers in their next round a week from today.

The match market for Okada versus KENTA was also republished this afternoon. As you'll see below, both wrestlers are now at 17/20.

My pick to win the A Block - Kota Ibushi - added another two points today when he overcame SANADA in the penultimate match of the card.

Due to his poor start, Ibushi has drifted out. He is now at 6/4 to be the A Block winner. His most recent price was the 3/5 he was pushed out to - from 13/25 - on July 15th.

B Block has had one round less than the other. Unlike betting on the A Block winner, this one has a competitor on two points at the top in Tetsuya Naito.

The favourite's price has lowered as well. He was at EVS previously, but is now down to 7/10.

Jon Moxley, who is the only person in the block who has won every match so far, has had his price snipped from 3/1 into 2s.

Other selections below Moxley have had their prices reduced. They are: Juice Robinson (12/1 to 9/2), Shingo Takagi (7/1 to 9/2) and Tomohiro Ishii (7/1 to 9/2). All three of these wrestlers have won two out of a possible three matches each.

Jay White, who was a 6/4 joint-favourite when the book opened, is now out to 8/1 following a poor start with zero points.

Naito is perched at the top of the Outright Winner market. However, just like the most recent update, his price has increased.

The undefeated KENTA and Okada are both moving up the board with KENTA's price having been halved from 6/1 and Okada has been snipped from 7/2 into 3/1.

As mentioned above, the two will square off in A Block's next round of matches. Therefore, barring a draw, one of their 0s is about to go.

The other wrestlers with shorter odds than the most recent adjustment are: Jon Moxley (6/1 to 9/2), Juice Robinson (25/1 to 10/1), Shingo Takagi (25/1 to 10/1), Tomohiro Ishii (12/1 to 10/1), Lance Archer (25/1 to 22/1) and SANADA (50/1 to 25/1).

Prices correct as of July 20th.
