How Kambi Settled Its X Tops X G1 Climax 29 Observer Markets

In yesterday's G1 Climax 29 retrospective betting post, I had a look at Kambi's prop markets in which customers could place wagers on certain names having participated in the match of the night.

Today's post, is sort of a follow up to that as I turn my attention to a couple of proposition specials Kambi released. In these markets, customers were asked to bet whether or not certain wrestlers would perform better - from a Wrestling Observer star rating perspective - than another.

There were two props. The first was titled 'Kota Ibushi tops Will Ospreay' and the second was 'Tetsuya Naito tops Kazuchika Okada'.

The rule of the two propositions was for the first named wrestler to 'feature in at least one match rated higher than (the second named wrestler)'s highest rated match in the tournament'.

If you've been following along, you'll be aware that Ospreay and Okada had the highest rated match of the tournament as their night seven meeting was given five-and-three-quarter stars from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter's editor, Dave Meltzer.

Seeing as Ospreay was a participant in the top match, it's obvious that Kota Ibushi's performance did not 'top' his.

The same goes for Naito. His best match was not better than Okada's 5.75 star classic against Ospreay, so the winning selection in his prop - just like for the Ibushi one - was 'No'.
