It seems somewhat fitting that, on the weekend of Burns Night and Drew McIntyre's Royal Rumble win, that Scotland won the 2020 Royal Rumble edition of Bookie .vs. Blogger .vs. Punters.
The contest saw a bookmaker, myself and two frequent visitors of this blog predict which wrestlers would win the Royal Rumble matches along with guessing certain propositions that occurred within the matches.
I thought up the proposition element for this month's contest. It turned out to be much harder than I envisioned.
The Bookie - who was representing England - came out of the competition with zero points. His seven point prediction was on Sasha Banks to be the iron woman in the battle royal. Banks was not in the match after all.
Ireland came third with two points. In his two-point spot, the Emerald Isle's representative predicted that Drew McIntyre would last the longest in the men's Royal Rumble. McIntyre's thirty-four minutes and change secured the points.
Positioning our picks is the key part of these contests and this is evident by the fact that my points were also scored with Drew McIntyre's iron man performance. I placed McIntyre in fourth spot.
During the match, McIntyre eliminated Brock Lesnar. This feat was predicted by the winner of the contest. He felt strong enough to place the 'Lesnar Eliminator' proposition in the six-point section of his entry.
All of our entries, along with the final scores, can be viewed in the table below.

Congratulations Scotland!
ReplyDeleteAnd congratulations to McIntyre! Fully deserves a push, and from a fan point of view, so glad that Reigns didn't win.
