G1 Climax 30 Betting: Nights 13 And 14

For the entire G1 Climax tournament, I've written posts for each night/day of action. However, for this weekend, I was unable to cover Saturday's card even though I was able to watch it live and catch the later odds for each selection. As a makegood, I've put this post together with the betting and results from both nights thirteen and fourteen.

I'll obviously start with Saturday's event.

G1 Climax 30: Night 13

Tomohiro Ishii (3-3) .vs. Jeff Cobb (2-4)
The market for Tomohiro Ishii versus Jeff Cobb was first published on Wednesday with Ishii a 4/6 favourite. His opponent was a 27/25 outsider.

By Thursday, Kambi had lowered Cobb into EVS. The selection was then at 17/20 on Friday evening.

With Cobb's odds lowered from 27/25 into 17/20, Ishii's price went out from 4/6 to 17/20. Then, before the match started, Ishii had shortened into 3/4 with Cobb going the other way up to 19/20.

Match Winner: Jeff Cobb

Jay White (4-2) .vs. Yujiro Takahashi (0-6)
Jay White was an 8/13 favourite to beat the winless Yujiro Takahashi when their market was released on Wednesday. The following day, White was at 11/25 and his opponent had gone from 23/20 to 8/5.

On Friday evening, White was 2/7 to Takahashi's 9/4. They were still at those prices when I checked in at 6:30AM BST on Saturday morning. However, by the time of the match, White had shortened into 2/13 and Takahashi had moved to 7/2.

Will Ospreay (4-2) .vs. Taichi (3-3)
Another market that was first published on Wednesday was the one for Will Ospreay versus Taichi, It started with the former at 2/5 and Taichi at 7/4.

By match time, Ospreay was an 11/50 favourite and his opponent was available at 14/5.

Match Winner: Will Ospreay

Kota Ibushi (4-2) .vs. Minoru Suzuki (3-3)
Kambi first opened a book on the Kota Ibushi versus Minoru Suzuki bout on September 13th. Initially, Ibushi was a 7/20 favourite while Suzuki was 19/10. The first few adjustments went the way of the favourite as the selection was lowered down into 1/4 by September 27th.

From October 2nd, it was Suzuki's odds that began to decline. This resulted in both men being placed at 17/20 each on Friday.

G1 Climax 30 Betting: Ibushi .vs. Suzuki

Match Winner: Kota Ibushi

Kazuchika Okada (4-2) .vs. Shingo Takagi (3-3)
The betting on the main event of night thirteen started on September 13th with Kazuchika Okada an 11/20 favourite with Shingo Takagi at 5/4. Apart from one moment in the first week of October, the odds for Okada descended and ended up at 2/13 before the match started.

Takagi closed as a 7/2 underdog.

G1 Climax 30 Betting: Okada .vs. Takagi

Match Winner: Kazuchika Okada

Following the results of night 13, the oddsmakers put back up the outright markets. Here is how they were last night and as of 9:30AM BST this morning.

A Block Winner
Jay White has remained a 7/4 favourite to win A Block. However, Will Ospreay has joined him after his odds were lowered from 9/4.

Other selections with shorter prices than the most recent adjustment are Kazuchika Okada (13/5 to 9/4) and Minoru Suzuki (from 50/1 into 40/1).

Outright Winner
Okada and Ospreay have both shortened in the outright winner markets as well. You'll see below that the two selections have both been snipped from 7/2 into 3/1.

SANADA is still a 5/2 favourite to be holding the trophy in a week from now.

Now onto night fourteen..

G1 Climax 30: Night 14

Yoshi-Hashi (1-5)  .vs. Zack Sabre Jr. (3-3)
Kambi published the market for Yoshi-Hashi versus Zack Sabre Jr. on Thursday with ZSJ a 4/9 favourite over the 6/4 for Yoshi-Hashi.

The market was unchanged right up to this morning's visit when I noticed that Sabre's odds had dropped into 7/20 while his opponent was up to 19/10.

Match Winner: Zack Sabre Jr.

Toru Yano (3-3) .vs. KENTA (2-4)
Just like with the opening tournament match of the night, Kambi first installed a market for Toru Yano versus KENTA on  October 8th.

At the time, KENTA was a 2/5 favourite. By the following evening, his odds had lowered to 11/50 and remained that way right up to the market's close before the show started.

With KENTA dropping, Yano rose from 7/4 to 14/5.

Juice Robinson (3-3) .vs. SANADA (3-3)
It was all SANADA in the market for his match with Juice Robinson.

Starting as a 1/8 favourite on Thursday, the LIJ member plummeted to 1/40 by 9:30AM BST today.

With the favourite's odds cut, Robinson rose from 4/1 to 8/1 over the three days.

Match Winner: SANADA

Hiroshi Tanahashi (3-3) .vs. Hirooki Goto (3-3)
Betting on tonight's penultimate bout first began on September 13th with Hiroshi Tanahashi a 13/25 favourite. A decision in favour of Hirooki Goto was being offered at 13/10.

The majority of the adjustments went in favour of Tanahashi. His price had dropped to 1/4 when I checked the market this morning before the event started.

G1 Climax 30 Betting: Hiroshi Tanahashi .vs. Hirooki Goto

Goto closed as a 5/2 underdog.

Match Winner: Hirooki Goto

Tetsuya Naito (5-1) .vs. EVIL (4-2)
The market for today's main event was first put up a month ago with Tetsuya Naito at EVS and his opponent - EVIL - a 7/10 favourite.

Within a week, Naito's odds had slipped into 9/10 with EVIL's up to 4/5. However, five days after that, the two selections were back where they started.

As the tournament has progressed, and it looking likely that EVIL will get the win over Naito today to set up at least a future title match before WrestleKingdom and to still be in play on night eighteen, the favourite fell into 1/4.

G1 Climax 30 Betting: Tetsuya Naito .vs. EVIL

Naito's price had gone right up to 5/2 before the market closed.

Match Winner: EVIL
