Observer Star Rating Betting Results For Nights 17-19 Of The G1 Climax 30

Dave Meltzer's final reviews of the matches from this year's G1 Climax were published in the issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that came out last week. The release meant that Kambi settled all of its Over/Under star ratings markets for the final round block matches as well as the entire proposition markets that were available before, and during, the tournament.

Nights 17 and 18
For nights seventeen and eighteen, Kambi had Over/Under star ratings markets for all of the tournament matches. The lines for each match, the stars received from Meltzer for the respective bouts along with the betting results can be seen in the table below.

For the last set of block matches, Kambi also created a special Over/Under proposition market which asked customers to gamble on the number of bouts that Meltzer would grade four stars or higher in his reviews.

Initially, Kambi set the line at three-and-a-half matches. This was later changed to four-and-a-half.

As you can view in the results table, every match - apart from Jeff Cobb .vs. Yujiro Takahashi - went four stars or higher on A Block's final night. Therefore, those who gambled on the 'Yes' - when the line was set at 3.5 matches - would have won before the oddsmaker had a chance to read the review of the following night.

Those who may have gambled on 'Yes' with the line of 4.5 would have also had winning wagers thanks to Hiroshi Tanahashi versus Zack Sabre Jr. getting four-and-a-half stars for their outing. SANADA versus EVIL rubber stamped the win by getting four stars for the final bout of B Block.

The Final (Night 19)
Kambi didn't publish an Over/Under star rating market for the Kota Ibushi versus SANADA final. However, the bookmakers had priced up a proposition market before the tournament started which asked customers whether or not the two block winners would have a 'Classic Final'.

In the prop, customers were asked whether the competitors of the tournament final would have a match that received five stars or more from the Observer's editor.

Kota Ibushi's triumph over SANADA received four-and-a-quarter stars from Meltzer. Therefore, the winning selection was 'No'.

As you can see - in the table - the eventual winner started out as a 4/6 favourite. It was backed into 8/13 by October 4th. However, it moved up slightly - into 7/10 - eight days later.
