A Small Gamble On The Elimination Chamber Match

There have been adjustments made to Sky Bet's market for the Elimination Chamber match market that I wrote about in a post published yesterday.

First, the favourite to win the match - Drew McIntyre - has now moved up to 8/13 from 4/7 to successfully retain the WWE Championship against the five other participants.

The move is a result of two other selections moving in.

As you can see, both Randy Orton and The Miz are showing shorter odds than yesterday with Orton down to 7/1 from 8/1 and Mizanin now at 20s from 25/1.

I am one of the people who have gambled on The Miz and I have also backed him at the 40/1 that was posted by Kambi today.

Even though I backed Miz, I think there's more of a chance of McIntyre retaining. Or Sheamus getting out the title to lead to McIntyre regaining it at WrestleMania.

However, I found an idea that somebody fantasy booked on Twitter to be compelling enough to warrant a small punt on the Money in the Bank holder.

The suggestion I read would have Miz being eliminated from the Elimination Chamber match early only to reinsert himself later by cashing in his briefcase.

For the scenario to work - and for bets to stand - Miz would obviously have to cash-in while the match is still in progress. A post-match cash-in would not settle Miz as the winner.

It's important to note a few things that stood out to me on this week's Raw which made me think it was worth the small gambles.

During a promo with Edge, Miz suggested the possibility of cashing in his briefcase if this year's Royal Rumble is successful in his title challenge at WrestleMania. This may have been intentional to lead people into believing that the cash-in isn't going to happen until at least the weekend of WrestleMania.

As well as that - it was looking likely that Miz and Morrison would team up against Damian Priest and Bad Bunny at WrestleMania. However, on Monday, the two heels had Angel Garza along with them.

This made me further question the possibility of Miz cashing in and potentially being the WWE Champion imminently. Having Garza aligned with Miz and Morrison right now could segue into Morrison and Garza being the opponents for Priest and Bad Bunny at Mania should Miz have another match that weekend.

With all that said, I also guessed that there might be other reasons why Garza is now in this feud.

One might be because he's a Spanish speaker and would be able to communicate more with Bad Bunny during the match (Morrison has worked in Mexico so I believe he must know the language, I'm unsure about Miz) or it might simply be to have Booker T added to make the Mania match a trios.
