It's the eighth night of the G1 Climax today.
Today's round of matches features the participants from B Block. As of this morning, before any matches get underway, Kazuchika Okada and Jeff Cobb are at the top of the rankings with six points out of a possible six.
Jeff Cobb (6 points) .vs. Tama Tonga (2 points)
The market for the first tournament match of the day opened with Jeff Cobb a 2/13 favourite over Tama Tonga (7/2).
Both selections remained stationary from the day the market was released on Thursday right through to 10:30AM BST today.
Cobb was the winner.
EVIL (4 points) .vs. Chase Owens (0 points)
The EVIL versus Chase Owens market was similar to the one for the opener with the favourite - EVIL - at 2/13 to Owens' 7/2.
It also stayed unchanged right through from open to close and had the 2/13 favourite declared the victor.
YOSHI-HASHI (0 points) .vs. Taichi (4 points)
YOSHI-HASHI picked up his first win of the tournament over Taichi in the third tournament match f the day.
He had entered the match as a 14/5 underdog while the losing selection was an 11/50 favourite.
Kazuchika Okada (6 points) .vs. Hirooki Goto (0 points)
Hirooki Goto's winless start continued with a loss to Kazuchika Okada in the penultimate match of the show.
Going in, Goto's odds had slid into 3/1 from 7/2. I too thought that there was a chance of the underdog going over because Goto had winnable matches coming up against YOSHI-HASHI and Chase Owens which would have started a mini-streak.
As for Okada - he started out as a 2/13 favourite when the market opened. His price was moved to 1/5 later that day and remained at that price until betting was suspended before the start of the event.
Hiroshi Tanahashi (4 points) .vs. SANADA (4 points)
The main event was won by Hiroshi Tanahashi, who entered the match as a 19/10 underdog. He had started out at 5/4, but SANADA's odds were lowered from 11/20 into 7/20 a few hours after the market opened yesterday.
Following today's event, there is no change at the top of the block with Kazuchika Okada and Jeff Cobb leading with eight points each.
