G1 Climax 31 Odds Update For October 16

The NJPW G1 Climax 31 betting markets, that have been available for the tournament from Kambi, were republished today.

Now that the tournament is headed toward its final week, a lot of obsolete selections have been wiped from the markets while those still in play have been changed.

A Block is the division which has the most possible outcomes for potential winner. Going into its final night, Zack Sabre Jr, Shingo Takagi and the two main eventers: Kota Ibushi and KENTA, are still alive in the standings.

Ibushi's price as favourite has now lowered into 8/5. His night 17 opponent - KENTA - is in second at odds of 21/10 - down from 3/1. They're followed by Zack Sabre Jr. - who has risen from 2/1 to 21/10 - and Shingo Takagi, who's drifted from 2/1 to 7/2.

Markets for the block's last set of matches have also been released. Those contests will take place on Monday, The prices, as of this afternoon, are:

Night 17 (A Block)
Tomohiro Ishii 8/25
Toru Yano 21/10

Shingo Takagi 1/4
Yujiro Takahashi 5/2

Zack Sabre Jr. 7/20
Tanga Loa 19/10

Kota Ibushi 8/13
KENTA 23/20

The bookmakers have published match winner markets for Wednesday's clashes between those in B Block. However, they have not installed match winner odds for the main event between Kazuchika Okada and Jeff Cobb.

I surmise the reason why there is no match winner market for Okada .vs. Cobb is because it'll be the block decider. Therefore, the B Block outright winner market will technically serve as one although - in a regular match market - a draw would result in a void bet. If a draw were to occur in Okada versus Cobb, Cobb will be declared the B Block winner as he will enter the match with two points more than Okada.

As of the time of writing, Okada is 8/13 to take the block while Cobb is 23/20.

Here are the match odds for the rest of Wednesday's card.

Night 18 (B Block)
Hiroshi Tanahashi 13/25
Taichi 13/10

Hirooki Goto 4/6
Tama Tonga 27/25

YOSHI-HASHI 5/4
Chase Owens 11/20

SANADA 17/20
EVIL 17/20

The G1 Climax 31 tournament winner was also placed back online today.

Okada, just like he has been since late last month, remains a 5/4 favourite to be declared this year's winner.

The market in which customers can gamble on what will be Thursday's final was also reinstalled today.

All of the selections, apart from one - Kazuchika Okada .vs. Shingo Takagi, have shortened since the market was last made available to gamblers.

The favourite - which would mean Ibushi takes A Block and Okada wins B Block - is now 5/2. It has reduced from 7/2.

'Okada .vs. KENTA' - a selection I have pointed out numerous times because it has been on a descent since September 20th - is now a 13/4 joint-second favourite after moving in from its previous price of 11/2.
