Meltzer Reports Flair/Rousey Is Set For Mania 38

Dave Meltzer has just reported that Charlotte Flair versus Ronda Rousey is scheduled to take place at WrestleMania 38.

This news obviously plays into what could go down at the Royal Rumble tonight because Flair - who is the current WWE Smackdown Women's Champion - is set to be a participant in the women's Royal Rumble match.

In a post published earlier today, I stated that - if Ronda Rousey were to enter the Rumble match -  she should win. That was under the assumption that Becky Lynch versus Ronda Rousey was the plan for Mania. Now, however, Rousey could simply eliminate Flair from the contest and that could set the ball rolling towards their match in early April.

I still wouldn't rule out Rousey from winning the Rumble.

A similar thing happened in 2020 when Drew McIntyre eliminated the WWE Champion - Brock Lesnar - from the Royal Rumble before going on to win and then choose to challenge Lesnar for the strap at WrestleMania 36.
