To bring you up to speed, Kambi voided a number of markets due to the situation inside the men's Elimination Chamber match which saw then-WWE Champion, Bobby Lashley, removed from the competition following an in-match angle which resulted in him being withdrawn.
A few of the markets, like the 'First Elimination' special - which I admittedly bet on myself - were voided by the sportsbook. I thought that the decision was made due to the market's rule that bets would be voided if there was a change in the number of participants or 'any listed participant does not take part'.
Kambi's spokesperson noted out to me they found it a difficult decision but opted to class Bobby Lashley as a non-starter due to two factors (1) he had left the match before his buzzer rang and (2) the ambiguity over the announcement of Lashley's departure within the match due to Michael Cole almost announcing Lashley's withdrawal before stopping to call Seth Rollins' elimination before returning to acknowledge that Lashley had been removed.
Even though I feel that the market should have still been settled with Lashley regarded as a starter because he was part of the match when the match commenced and it was his title on the line, I completely understand the dilemma that the oddsmakers may have faced with the second factor.
As I pointed out in the most recent post on this subject, I sensed it could have gone either way. In my opinion, I may have had a stronger chance of winning a bet had Michael Cole announced Lashley's departure before Brock Lesnar picked up Seth Rollins for the F-5 which led to what Sky Bet considered the first elimination in the match.
I did get, from what was stated to me, that Kambi's decision came with frustration on their end due to the thought and time that was dedicated to the creation of those markets.
I appreciate that and I am also grateful for the time they took to detail why they made their decision.
