A Look At Sky Bet's Elimination Chamber Match Specials

The oddsmakers from Sky Bet have published specials to their coverage of the men's Elimination Chamber match which is set for this weekend.

Customers can now gamble on who they think will be the first wrestler eliminated, the iron man and who will tally up the most eliminations.

The 'First Entrant Eliminated' market is one I had been hoping to see a few weeks ago. This was back when I had a feeling Seth Rollins would walk out with the WWE Championship. 

Back then, I wanted to take Bobby Lashley as the person who'll be eliminated first in the match. The reason why i wanted to take that gamble is because I thought they should start out with Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley and then have the former eliminate Lashley before any of the pods are opened. That way would achieve two things: Brock would visually get the win back from Lashley and also set the tone for the match by guaranteeing a new champion in the bout's early stages. This idea was made with the idea that Seth Rollins would somehow win the strap in the end (because he was reportedly set to be WWE Champion before Plan B was forced upon WWE on January 1).

I have since moved on from that thought because I feel the match will be won either by Lashley (to set up Lashley vs Lesnar II on night one of Mania before a title versus title match - against Roman Reigns - main events the following evening) or just go straight to the promotion of a WrestleMania title versus title match with Brock Lesnar regaining the strap in Saudi. 

With all that said, after coming across the market this morning, I thought I had to take Bobby Lashley at 20/1 to be the first person to exit the match. 

Austin Theory is 8/15 to go first. He's followed by Riddle (4/1), AJ Styles (9/2), Seth Rollins (10/1). Then it's Lashley at the aforementioned 20/1 with the bookie's favourite to win the match - Lesnar - at 66/1.

Lashley is a 13/8 favourite to be the iron man. Even though I have, or rather had, the idea of Lashley going out first, it's understandable to see him favoured to be in the match for the longest amount of time just in case they want the champ to dominate before he eventually comes up short against Brock Lesnar.

With that thought in mind, the 3/1 - for Lashley to get the most eliminations - might appeal to those who think Lesnar will leave the Elimination Chamber with the strap.
