A Look At Kambi's Mania 39 Main Event Markets

On April 2nd, a few hours before the first night of WrestleMania 38, the oddsmakers from Kambi installed betting markets for the main event of WrestleMania 39.

The markets are similar to previous years in which customers can gamble on who will be the winner/participants of next year's main event.

When they went live, I took note of the odds for each selection and chose to wait until a future date to write about them. They were republished yesterday and I noticed a lot of adjustments have been made. Therefore today is that date.

With a lot of people speculating that next year's show, what with it being in Hollywood, could be headlined by a meeting between Roman Reigns and The Rock, it should not be surprising to see that Kambi opted to go with Roman Reigns as the favourite to win the Mania main event.

When first installed, Reigns was a 4/5 favourite to go over in the main event. His potential dance partner was in second at 3/1.

However, with the new prices put up yesterday, I've noticed that both selections have risen with Reigns moving up slightly to 9/10 and Dwayne Johnson's price now out to 4/1.

As I have written in previous posts, I have an out-of-the-box, somewhat controversial, idea that Roman Reigns versus The Rock should take place at SummerSlam as Tennessee - where this year's show is scheduled to take place from - is the state where Dwayne Johnson was first sent to work after signing for the WWF.

What has added fuel to my blazing opinion is the fact that, on the Raw after WrestleMania 38, Cody Rhodes' promo - in which he declared his intent to become world champion - has made me think that next year's Mania main event could be Reigns .vs. Rhodes with the promo being the first step in the year-long chase.

Of course, I could have it back-to-front with Reigns taking on the challenge of Rhodes during the summer and then having the dream match, with The Rock, in April 2023.

Going by the betting, however, Rhodes' price to get the win in the main event of Mania 39 has slipped from 16/1 into 9/1.

His isn't the only selection with shorter odds, though. Other names with reductions are: Big E (33/1 into 9/1), Charlotte Flair (14/1 into 12/1), Gable Steveson (14/1 into 12/1), Money in the Bank second-favourite: Riddle (40/1 into 15/1) and Bobby Lashley (40/1 into 25/1).

WrestleMania 39 Main Event Betting

The second market that is associated with Kambi's Mania 39 main event special allows customers to gamble each-way of sorts. Customers get paid out if their selection either wins or is a participant in the main event.

For example - if Roman Reigns versus The Rock is the main event for next year's show, and it is won by Reigns, any bets on The Rock - in the '1-2' column - will be graded as a win. As would any wagers on 'Roman Reigns' in that scenario.

When initially priced up, Reigns was 1/2 to win or be a participant in the match (ie to lose). His odds have since been lowered into 1/3.

Big E (15/1 into 4/1), Cody Rhodes (6/1 into 11/4), Gable Steveson (5/1 into 9/2), Riddle (20/1 into 6/1) and Bobby Lashley (20/1 into 15/1) are the wrestlers whose prices are shorter in the place market since it was first published over a fortnight ago.

I don't know how often I will collect odds for the '1-2' market. With that said, I plan to continue following that outright one for as long as it's available.
