Sky Bet's 2024 Royal Rumble Markets Published

Sky Bet is the latest firm to publish markets for next year's Royal Rumble matches.

As of this morning, the company lists Seth Rollins as a 4/1 favourite to win the male battle royal. While - over in the outright market for the women's version of the match - Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriquez are 5/1 joint-favourites.

I have had a punt on the men's Rumble. 

On April 10th, I explained why I had a gamble on the 20/1 for a Roman Reigns win that Paddy Power is offering. If I'm going to take a bite at 20s, I wasn't going to pass up the 28/1 Sky Bet lists WWE's top guy.

I don't see the creation (reintroduction?) of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship as a sign that Reigns' run as champ is going to continue into 2024. 

SummerSlam 2023 could be the decider. If Reigns is still holding the straps after that show, then I may acknowledge that betting on Reigns to win the Rumble was foolish.

As I wrote last month - if Reigns happens to lose his title any time between now and January, he should instantly become the betting favourite to win the Rumble.

Having the WWE World Heavyweight Championship now factored in has only strengthened my belief that Reigns is worth consideration for a Rumble bet.

If he isn't holding the Universal Title, the company may want the new championship to be the main event of WrestleMania 40. Having Reigns challenge for it would add some credibility and prestige to the new strap just by having Reigns target it. 

WWE has already teased Reigns wanting the new title on this week's episode of Raw when Paul Heyman cut a promo conveying his resentment that the brand split means Reigns cannot compete for the new belt.
