G1 Climax 33: Odds Notes For August 5 (A Block Finals)

Today's G1 Climax matches will consist of A Block's final round.

The BetOnline Sportsbook has published markets for the four contests. Here are the odds as of the time of writing.

G1 Climax 33 - A Block Final Night Odds

All of those markets are still showing the same odds as yesterday evening, when I first came across them.

The night will be headlined by Shota Umino .vs. Hikuleo. Both men are sitting on six points each and I surmise that, by the time their match takes place, it'll be a 'win and you're in'.

To get to that scenario, I believe +500 Ren Narita would have to beat Kaito Kiyomiya.

A loss for Kiyomiya will leave him on six points. Then, focusing on the main event (Either Tsuji or Kidd could be on seven points depending on who wins the opening match of the G1 slate), Umino and Hikuleo will fight to get to eight points.

With that said, they could do Kiyomiya getting the win against Narita. That would open it up more for Hikuleo because he has the tiebreaker over Kiyomiya while Umino and Kiyomiya had a draw against each other when they met.

I feel scenario one is what they'll do. Or maybe I am leaning that way because I find the +500 for Narita to play spoiler appealing?

Before today's round begins, it's worth noting that there has been a recent change in the outright winner market.

G1 Climax 33 Outright Betting

When I looked over the market yesterday, I noticed that Tetsuya Naito's odds have slid into +250. This now makes him the second-favourite to be crowned G1 Climax Winner and earn a title shot for January 4th.

After today, the tournament will resume tomorrow with the final matches for B Block.
