A Saturday Morning Look At BetOnline's Clash At The Castle '24 Markets

Tonight sees WWE Clash at the Castle return. This time, the event will be held in Glasgow, Scotland and still not inside a castle.

As usual, I have been following the betting markets and will share with you all of my findings ahead of the show.

BetOnline's initial markets were opened on June 2nd. More were added along the way. However, the bookmakers did price up for matches that were unconfirmed for the show. For time and context, I have chosen to only write about the contests that are being advertised for tonight's card.

WWE Women's Championship
Bayley will defend her WWE Women's Championship against a 'home' challenger in Piper Niven.

As you'll be able to see below, the betting has sided with Bayley because her odds were at a short -1,500 at the start of this month. That price has gradually lowered into -5,000.

A decision which favours Niven is currently priced at +1,200. Her price has doubled since opening.

WWE Intercontinental Championship
Going by the one price change I've been able to record for the Sami Zayn .vs. Chad Gable Intercontinental Title clash, it appears the bettors have sided with the challenger: Gable.

Gable was at -150 when I first began to follow this market on Wednesday morning. That price has since moved into -250.

Those looking to bet on Sami Zayn retaining with the win can find him at +170. That's up from the +110 he could have been found at midweek.

WWE Women's Tag Team Championship
There is another 'home' aspect on the card. This time it is in the triple threat match for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship because Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn - both from Scotland - are one of the pairs of challengers to the straps being held by Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill.

With that in mind, it may explain why Fyre and Dawn's odds were snipped from +700 into +550 sometime between Wednesday and Thursday. However, the selection has since revisited +700.

Belair and Cargill were initially -1,600. Their price was moved up following the Fyre and Dawn odds cut. However, the champions were backed into -3,000 sometime between last night and 9:30AM BST today.

The selection for the third team in this contest - Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark - has moved out from +900 to +1,600

Undisputed WWE Championship
The oddsmakers placed titleholder - Cody Rhodes - as a short-priced favourite to beat AJ Styles in the 'I Quit' match when betting began almost a fortnight ago. There have been two other adjustments to the market since then and all have sided with the champ.

A win for Rhodes is currently priced at -5,000 to Styles' +1,200. You'll see, in the table, that the challenger started out at +700 to Cody's -2,000.

I have seen a few people on social media with a shared belief that Styles could win this one because Rhodes shared a photograph of he and his mother flying over to Scotland for the event. Those people have speculated that there could be a spot in the match where Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows compromise Mama Rhodes which would force her son to quit in order to save her.

There's that. Or there's the fact that Rhodes has only held the title for a couple of months and that there was a tease of a Rhodes .vs. The Rock match on the Monday after Mania. I doubt they'd have Rhodes dropping and regaining the title if the long-term goal is to have him go up against The Rock. In my opinion, if Rhodes .vs. Rock were to happen, Rhodes should go into the match with a spotless reign.

World Heavyweight Championship
I have had a lot of people ask me what I believe the finish of tonight's main event will be. I would go so far as to say I have possibly been asked by more people for my opinion on this one match than any other since the last Clash at the Castle.

Unfortunately, my mindset is the same as it was back in 2022. For the Cardiff event, I said that Drew McIntyre should get the win whether he becomes the champion or not.

And we know how that one ended.

I have not bet at all on this match because I could see it going either way. Damian Priest's reign has been relatively short (although that doesn't necessarily mean anything) but the big match that could spin off from tonight is Drew McIntyre .vs. CM Punk.

We have already seen Punk cost McIntyre the title. Therefore, Punk interfering just to prevent McIntyre the win is lower on the scale. However, add in that it'll cost McIntyre the win at home, and I suppose it puts it close to an even level to what we saw at WrestleMania.

If I were forced to pick one, I would side with McIntyre only because I'd like to see how crazy that crowd would be to see him claim the title in Glasgow. Then there's that dynamic of McIntyre returning to the US as the heel after being a babyface in Scotland. Plus, if Punk does happen to be there, Punk will be hated too despite being a babyface for the rest of their program.

As for the betting, the punters initially sided with McIntyre because he was the opening underdog before his price fell from +150 into -225 across four days. The titleholder, on the other hand, had moved out from -200 to +160 in that time.

All of the most recent price drops have sided with Priest. He has remained the underdog but the odds have descended from the +160 into +135 between Wednesday and sometime before 10:15PM BST last night.

Those looking to back McIntyre can currently find him at -175.

But, that's not all.

The CM Punk factor has also resulted in the BetOnline staff pricing up a proposition market which asks whether he'll interfere in the main event.

'Yes' is the favourite of the two. However, as you can see above, the odds for 'No' were lowered from +275 into +200 sometime within the first day I began following the market.

The selection for Punk to be a part of this contest is currently -300, but had been -450.

All prices were correct as of 9:30AM BST today. The latest odds can be found by visiting BetOnline below.
