BetOnline's markets for tonight's WWE Survivor Series: WarGames event have been available for close to ten days and there have been some interesting wagers placed on the four-match card.
In this morning's post, I'll go through all of the changes I've recorded along those few days. I'll do so in the order each market appears on the BetOnline Website.
WWE Intercontinental Championship
For this month's coverage of WWE betting, I was on the sportsbook's betting page before I received the email to inform me that markets had been published.. I was able to see a few prices change live.
The first example I have of odds moving before my eyes occurred in the betting on the WWE Intercontinental Championship match. BetOnline placed Dominik Mysterio as a favourite to regain his title from John Cena. At 10PM GMT on Wednesday 19th November, the bookies listed the challenger at -200 to Cena's +150. However, a little over ten minutes later, Mysterio's number had been cut into -300 with the titleholder moved out to +200.
The only other price adjustment - for this market - occurred sometime before 4:15PM GMT on Monday. Once again, it was Dominik Mysterio's odds that were shortened with the former champ down into -500 to get a result over Cena.
From day one, the odds for the bad guys descended. They had been at -500 since Monday, but were moved up to -200 overnight following their opponents' odds being halved from +300.
Those looking to back Cena to retain with a win, thus guaranteeing he'll enter his final match in a fortnight from now as Intercontinental Champion, can currently get him as a +300 underdog.
Men's War Games Match
As already noted, I was able to catch some of the earlier lines changes for the matches on tonight's card. The one for the men's War Games match saw current favourites move in from being ranked as slight underdogs.
When I first began tracking this market at 10PM GMT on November 19th, BetOnline had the team of The Vision, Logan Paul, Drew McIntyre and Brock Lesnar at -110 to their opponents' -130. However, by 10:11PM of that same night, the squad of heels had flipped into -150 with the team of CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, The Usos and Roman Reigns pushed out to +135.
It didn't end there. I checked back an hour and twenty-seven minutes after that and noticed the favourites' price had dropped further with the sportsbook then offering -175. As a result, the team of babyfaces were out to +135.
From day one, the odds for the bad guys descended. They had been at -500 since Monday, but were moved up to -200 overnight following their opponents' odds being halved from +300.
In storyline, the heels have the advantage of the odd-numbered entries into the cage thus outnumbering the babyfaces until all participants are officially in the match. I surmise last night's bet may have been a speculative punt on the babyfaces because of that.
Women's War Games Match
On last night's pre-taped episode of WWE Smackdown, Charlotte Flair - a member of the babyface team in the women's War Games match - defeated Asuka to give her side the advantage for tonight's contest.
The heel side, consisting of the Kabuki Warriors, Becky Lynch, Nia Jax and Lash Legend, had started out at +135 but were increased to +150 following the odds for Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky, Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair and AJ Lee lowering from -175 into -200 within the first eleven minutes I began following the market. By the late evening of the initial day of wagering, the babyfaces were -225 to their opponents' +160.
As you'll be able to see below, the odds for the favourites continued to plummet and had reached -1,500 before Monday night of this week. That's important to note because, by 10:30AM GMT of Tuesday, the heels' odds began a decline that has continued into this morning. The heels' price fell from +600 into +575 between Monday evening and Tuesday morning and is now at +300.
I believe this drop coincides with the fact that last night's episode of Smackdown - with the aforementioned bout to determine which side gets the advantage - was taped last week. I suspect the punters waited until Monday's Raw to see if there were any storyline developments for the women's match before siding with the team that have the - pardon the pun - odds stacked against them for tonight's contest.
When BetOnline first put out a market for Stephanie Vaquer's defence of her Women's World Championship against Nikki Bella, the titleholder was priced up at odds of an extremely short -2,500.
That price wasn't extreme enough.
Within three days, the selection for Vaquer had plummeted into -10,000 following a spell at -5,000. As a result, Nikki Bella's price - to win her title challenge - moved up from +800 to +2,000. However, they are shorter than that now.
Between Monday and yesterday afternoon, Bella's price descended between +1,200 and +550. That decrease meant that, even though she remained a favourite, Stephanie Vaquer rose from -10,000 to -1,000.
The most recent adjustments to the market have seen Vaquer once again backed. She's currently -1,500 with her challenger now at +600.
And that's all for now. I'll continue looking over the markets throughout the day and will post any updates should anything significant happen before bell time.
