Over Half Of The US Is Rooting For John Cena To Win The Royal Rumble

Over half of the United States of America is rooting for John Cena to win the 2025 WWE Royal Rumble this weekend. That is the result from research BetOnline's staff have carried out over the past seven days using data from X (formerly Twitter).

The sportsbook's researchers tallied phrases like 'John Cena will win the Royal Rumble,' 'CM Punk should win the Royal Rumble', 'The Rock will win the Royal Rumble' and other similar sentences using names from the WWE roster in order to find a clear

A sample of over 100,000 tweets/posts from people in the USA were tracked for this project.

Cena is liked by twenty-six states. Following Cena is CM Punk (13 states), The Rock (5 states), Seth Rollins (4 states) and Roman Reigns, who has Arizona and Washington throwing up their ones

As of the time of writing, BetOnline lists John Cena as the odds-on favourite to win the Rumble in the company's outright winner market. He's -110. That's a drop from the +375 I first recorded him at on Tuesday November 26th.

Unlike the order of the research, the second-favourite in the betting is Seth Rollins at +175. Then it's Punk (+225), Roman Reigns (+300) and The Rock (+1,200) followed by a a plethora of other selections.

Poll Results: 'Who's Going To Win At SummerSlam?'

With betting odds for SummerSlam's WWE Universal Championship match available online, I decided to do a poll on Twitter to see who the consensus pick would be to go on and win the bout.

The poll was open for twenty-four hours and closed this afternoon. The question I asked was 'Who's Going To Win At SummerSlam?' and I gave the four potential winners as the choices.

Who's Going To Win The Universal Championship At SummerSlam? Poll

The winner, if you will, was Brock Lesnar. He received forty percent of the votes. However, Roman Reigns was very close with thirty-eight percent.

Going in, I had a feeling that Samoa Joe would have been the option that finished in second-place. I thought this because he was the name that was backed when Paddy Power's market was first installed on Thursday evening.

As of the time of writing, Paddy Power's betting market has Reigns and Joe tied in second. The voters evidently think that Reigns has a better a chance than Joe, but I disagree.

I've stated numerous times over the past few weeks that I believe Brock Lesnar will retain the title. If there was a plan for him to drop the strap on August 20th, I think the company would have put him in a singles match against Roman Reigns because the end result has been for Reigns to slay The Beast in order to become Universal Champion.

If there has been a discussion of Lesnar losing the fatal 4-way match, in my mind, the obvious winner should be Samoa Joe.

Joe has wins over Roman Reigns so - if there is a plan other than Lesnar, and my instinct is telling me there isn't - Joe has to be the second favourite because it would allow for Roman Reigns to chase a different heel for the big win whenever or wherever that might be.

It was interesting to gauge how the fans (not all are bettors) are calling this. Had I cast a vote, I would have been with the majority.

Time permitting, there might be more poll result posts in the near future.
