How Kambi Will Settle Its Observer Star Ratings Markets For WWE HIAC 2022

This week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, with Dave Meltzer's review of WWE Hell in a Cell 2022, was published this morning.

Now that Meltzer's report has been released, Kambi's oddsmakers can settle the star ratings markets that were released for the event.

Over/Under markets were created for all of the bouts that took place on the night. Their lines and results can be found in the table below.

The match of the event was the Hell in a Cell match which saw an injured Cody Rhodes victorious over Seth Rollins. 

The contest received five stars from Meltzer, which - if I am not mistaken - is the first time, since the John Cena versus CM Punk match at Money in the Bank 2011, that a match on the main roster received at least five stars.

There have been NXT bouts that have earned five or more since '11.

Cody Rhodes Possibly Injured Ahead Of WWE HIAC 2022

There are reports that Cody Rhodes could be injured heading into tonight's WWE Hell in a Cell event.

Rhodes has been advertised to wrestle Seth Rollins in what is the only Hell in a Cell match on the card. However, at a house show last night, Drew McIntyre subbed for him in a street fight against Rollins. Rhodes did play a limited role in a post-match angle.

On the most recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer informed his listeners that it might be a pectoral muscle injury.

As of right now, WWE is still advertising the match. From a betting perspective, sportsbooks still list Rhodes as the favourite to win tonight's contest.

Latest BetOnline Odds For HIAC 2022

Earlier this week, I published a post noting that BetOnline had published markets for tonight's WWE Hell in a Cell 2022. I have returned to the markets at least daily since then and have made notes of any price changes. Here is how things have been going.

Madcap Moss .vs. Baron Corbin
With this match - with a 'no holds barred' stipulation - having been added to tonight's card during Friday's episode of Smackdown, I only have one set of odds.

BetOnline lists Moss as a -500 favourite. Corbin is +300.

Bobby Lashley .vs. Omos and MVP
The market for the handicap match opened with Bobby Lashley a -180 favourite to beat Omos and MVP (+140). 

By 8:15PM BST on Friday evening, the odds for Omos and MVP had dipped into +120 while Lashley's price as favourite drifted up to -160.

The Judgement Day .vs. Styles, Balor and Morgan
The trio of The Judgement Day (Edge, Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley) kicked off as -350 when the market was first installed on Tuesday. Their odds fell into -400 sometime between yesterday evening and 11:30AM BST today.

A win for AJ Styles, Finn Balor and Liv Morgan will now pay out at odds of +275. They were initially +225.

Ezekiel .vs. Kevin Owens
BetOnline had Kevin Owens as an underdog, with a price of +110, when betting commenced for his meeting with Ezekiel (-150).

By Friday, the favourite had dropped into -170 while Owens had moved up to +130.

Theory .vs. Mustafa Ali
The betting for the US Championship match has seen the titleholder - Theory - lower over the five days.

As you can see, Theory started off at -450. His price was down into -500 by Friday night and had dropped once more sometime between last night and this morning. He now stands at -500.

With Theory's price dropping, BetOnline pushed Mustafa Ali out to +350. He was +275 earlier in the week.

WWE Raw Women's Championship Triple Threat
Barring a very early - and short - reduction in the odds for Becky Lynch to win the triple threat match for the WWE Raw Women's Championship, which I wrote about on Tuesday, Bianca Belair's price to retain the title has descended over the five days.

The champ, after initially moving up from -200 to -190, is now down into -550. Becky Lynch, who was a +220 second-favourite, is now in third at +550 while Asuka has moved to +500 from +300.

Cody Rhodes .vs. Seth Rollins
Cody Rhodes will go 3-0 against Seth Rollins tonight if the bettors are on the correct side in punting on the Hell in a Cell match winner.

Rhodes was -225 to Rollins' +150 when the market was installed. By the following evening, the favourite had dipped into -250 and then had descended into -500 by Friday.

Rhodes was once again cut overnight when he was placed at -550. 

While Rhodes' odds have been on the decline, Rollins' have risen from +150 to +350.

New HIAC 2022 Markets From Kambi

New WWE Hell in a Cell 2022 match markets have been added to Kambi's coverage of tomorrow's event.

On last night's edition of WWE Smackdown, Baron Corbin scored a disqualification win over his former friend, Madcap Moss. Later in the show, Adam Cole set up a rematch - as a no holds barred contest - for Sunday.

As of the time of writing, Kambi lists Moss as a 2/13 favourite with his opponent at 7/2.

A Wrestling Observer star rating over/under market has been created with the line set at 2.75 Stars.

Also on Smackdown, Natalya won a six-pack challenge match to determine Ronda Rousey's next WWE Smackdown Women's Championship challenger. 

Markets for Rousey .vs. Natalya have been published. However, I don't believe WWE has confirmed the match will take place tomorrow night.

If I am incorrect, and it is set for tomorrow, Rousey is 1/40 and her challenger is 8/1. The over/under, in the Wrestling Observer star rating market, has a line of 3.5 Stars.

Kambi's WWE HIAC '22 Odds

Kambi is the latest sports betting service to release betting markets for this weekend's WWE Hell in a Cell event.

All of the matches, so far announced, have odds applied to them. As well as that, those who like gambling on the Wrestling Observer star ratings markets can find Over/Under lines for all contests.

The main match on the card will see Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes wrestle once more. This time, it'll be inside the cell.

As of the time of writing, Kambi lists Rhodes as a 1/4 favourite to send the current series 3-0. A decision for Rollins will pay out at odds of 5/2.

The Observer line for the match has been set at 4.5 stars with the '4.5 Stars or more' selection an 8/13 favourite over the 23/20 that covers anything below four-and-a-half stars.

BetOnline's Early WWE HIAC 2022 Odds

BetOnline forwarded me the opening betting odds for the matches are currently set for this weekend's WWE Hell in a Cell event.

The email arrived at 5:31PM BST today. I was able to check the website within ten minutes and noticed that one of the markets had changed slightly.

Going by what I was sent, the WWE Raw Women's Championship triple threat odds initially had Bianca Belair a -200 favourite to successfully retain her title. The on-site odds currently has the champion up to -190.

The decline, as you'll see in the table below, has sided with Becky Lynch. She is now +215 from +220.

Asuka has remained at +300.

The remaining odds, in the order of their appearance on the BetOnline page, are:

Sky Bet and Kambi have now closed their betting markets for tonight's WWE Hell in a Cell 2021. Here are the closing favourites for the matches.

BetOnline Moves Rollins Into Favouritism

Seth Rollins has become a favourite to beat Seth Rollins tonight at WWE Hell in a Cell.

A betting market, priced up by the oddsmakers from BetOnline, had Rollins as a +150 underdog when I wrote about the odds earlier today. However, he has now moved into -170.

Cesaro, who was a -200 favourite, has now risen to +130.

The current underdog has had the better of Rollins during their current feud with wins at WrestleMania and on the throwback special edition of WWE Smackdown in early May.

WWE HIAC 2021 Betting Odds As Of This Morning

With the WWE Hell in a Cell 2021 PPV airing tonight, I've gone through all of the sportsbooks I've been following and have noted how this morning's lines compare - and contrast - with each other across a handful of local and foreign bookmaking websites.

I'll kick things off with what I consider a surprising move for someone I believe has a low chance of winning tonight considering her opponent and the current storyline.

Alexa Bliss .vs. Shayna Baszler
I've started off with the market for the Alexa Bliss versus Shayna Baszler match because all of the sports betting firms I have been following closely have been shortening the price for a win by Baszler.

Sky Bet's market has been available since Friday. When I first began to follow it, Bliss was a 1/16 favourite over the 7/1 for Shayna Baszler. However, when I checked in last night, Bliss had lowered into 1/20 while her opponent has risen to 8s.

As you'll see below - Baszler's price moved in overnight with the market returning to its original pricing.

Kambi's market, which opened yesterday, has seen Baszler backed in from 6/1.

The non-favourite was 11/2 last night and is now at a slightly shorter 5/1 this morning.

Alexa Bliss remains a favourite. However, her price has risen up from 1/16 to 1/10.

In offshore betting, a slightly similar pattern to Sky Bet's gamblers' interest in Baszler has occurred on the 5Dimes Website. Baszler - who was +600 yesterday morning - had risen during the day, but has since lowered.

Another firm - BetOnline, which has been accepting wagers since Wednesday, has kept Bliss at -1,000 and Baszler at +525.

Kevin Owens .vs. Sami Zayn
With Owens versus Zayn being a new addition to tonight's card, there hasn't been too much activity to note.

Sky Bet's market was on its website when I checked in at 5:30PM BST yesterday. It listed Owens as a 1/3 favourite to the 9/4 for Zayn. Those odds were still available at 10:00AM BST today.

Kambi was the first sportsbook to offer betting on this match opening with Owens at 1/4 and Zayn at 5/2. However, by 10:20PM BST last night, Zayn's price had been lowered into 9/4. It was once again changed sometime before 10:00AM BST today as the selection is now at 19/10.

As you can see, Owens has moved from the 1/4 to 2/7 and then to 7/20 in that time.

5Dimes has also shortened Zayn's odds in the short period betting has been available for the match.

When I noticed the market available yesterday evening, 5Dimes listed Zayn at +240 with Owens a -320 favourite. Upon this morning's visit, I see Zayn at +180 and the favourite up to -260.

BetOnline's market was opened overnight and it has Owens at -300 while Zayn is +200.

Cesaro .vs. Seth Rollins

When Kambi priced up the market for Cesaro .vs. Seth Rollins, Cesaro was a 1/2 fave over the 7/5 for Seth Rollins.

By last night, the odds for a Rollins win had decreased into 13/10 with Cesaro moving up slightly to 11/20. 

As you can see in the table, Rollins' lowered again and is now at 27/25. A decision for Cesaro will now pay out at 4/6.

Over at 5Dimes, Rollins' price shortened from +140 into +100 overnight with Cesaro now a -140 favourite from a shorter -180.

BetOnline's market was released sometime between last night and this morning and lists Cesaro as a -200 fave.  A win for Rollins is currently priced at +150.

Rhea Ripley .vs. Charlotte Flair
Yesterday morning, I noticed that BetOnline had lowered its price for Charlotte Flair to beat Rhea Ripley in the WWE Raw Women's Championship match.

In contrast to that, the other bookmakers have been shortening the odds for a Ripley victory.

BetOnline's market was one of the earliest to open. When I began to follow it, the favourite; Rhea Ripley, was -400 to Flair's +250. 

As of yesterday morning, Flair is now at +175 and the champ is -250.

As you'll see, in the tables below, all of the adjustments in other books have sided with Ripley.

Sky Bet had the titleholder as a 1/2 favourite when I first began to follow the market on June 15th. The price was down to 4/9 the following day and had moved into 2/5 by 10:00AM BST today.

Kambi moved Ripley in from yesterday's 11/25 into 7/20 today.

5Dimes has also adjusted its market with Rhea Ripley moved in slightly.

Bianca Belair .vs. Bayley
Even though Paddy Power / Betfair has become predatory and ambiguous with its WWE markets, and having made the decision not to extensively cover its WWE markets on this blog (Read This Post), I do feel it is worth pointing out that the sportsbook has cut Bayley's odds to beat Bianca Belair in the WWE Smackdown Women's Championship match.

As you'll see, Bayley had been 15/2 since moving up from 11/2 on June 16th. However, overnight, her price was moved into 4/1.

Bianca remains a favourite. However, her price has risen from a very short 1/25 to 1/8.

I haven't seen any interest in Bayley at the other sportsbooks.

Sky Bet, which had its book open since mid-June has made adjustments in favour of the titleholder with Belair dropping from 1/20 into 1/33.

Kambi - which opened yesterday with Bianca Belair a 1/20 fave - dropped the titleholder into 1/40 by the evening.

Similarly, 5Dimes cut Belair's odds between yesterday morning and evening (UK time) with Belair dropping into -1,750 from -1,700.

BetOnline has consistently offered Bianca Belair as a -2,500 favourite to Bayley's +750 since opening its market on Wednesday.

Bobby Lashley .vs. Drew McIntyre
The sports betting firms with markets for the WWE Championship the longest have both adjusted in favour of a win by the champ.

Sky Bet, which opened its market earlier this month, had Lashley as a 1/2 favourite to Drew McIntyre's 6/4 when I began to follow along.

Within twenty-four hours, the sportsbook had moved Lashley into 1/3 and then - on June 12th - I noticed the titleholder was down to 2/7. 

The move has continued because Lashley is now - as of this morning - at 1/4

The challenger has risen from the early 6/4 right up to 11/4 in this time.

BetOnline's book opened on June 11th with Lashley at the equivalent of 1/3. His price had descended into -400 by yesterday morning after a stop at -350.

Of the two firms that have been taking bets on match the shortest, the betting on Kambi's market has remained consistent with the other two because Bobby Lashley - who was 1/3 yesterday - was lowered into 1/4 by this morning.

5Dimes' market has gone the other way. Slightly. Following an adjustment yesterday, the odds for Drew McIntyre dipped from +250 into +235. This resulted in the sportsbook moving Bobby Lashley to -315 favourite from -350.

And that's all. BetOnline is the only sportsbook still with a market for the Reigns/Mysterio Hell in a Cell match that was brought forward to Friday's episode of Smackdown. It doesn't mean anything now, but it still has Roman Reigns at -3,000 and Rey Mysterio at +850.

Kambi Installs WWE HIAC 2021 Markets

The oddsmakers from Kambi have published betting markets for tomorrow night's WWE Hell in a Cell 2021 PPV.

Unlike the other firms with markets already out, Kambi is - as of the time of writing - offering betting opportunities for the two new matches that have been added to the card.

On last night's episode of WWE Smackdown it was announced that Kevin Owens will once again face Sami Zayn and, in another contest, Cesaro will take on his current nemesis - Seth Rollins.

Owens is a 1/4 favourite to get the W.  A decision for Zayn will pay out at odds of 5/2.

Kambi's market for Cesaro versus Seth Rollins has the latter a 7/5 underdog while Cesaro is favoured at 1/2.

As well as the regular match markets, Kambi has also added an Over/Under special in which customers can gamble on the number of title changes that will occur during the event.

The line has been set at 0.5. Customers who believe there will be at least one title switch can get EVENS for the 'Over 0.5' while those who expect all champions to retain can get 7/10 for the Under.

Reigns .vs. Rey Moved To Friday

The Roman Reigns versus Rey Mysterio match - which was originally set for this Sunday's WWE Hell in a Cell PPV - has been brought forward to tomorrow's episode of WWE Smackdown.

Therefore, if no Reigns .vs. Rey Mysterio match takes place on Sunday night, any Roman Reigns or Rey Mysterio wagers placed for the event will be graded as void at the conclusion of the Pay-Per-View.

As of this morning, the three sportsbooks I have been following are still taking bets on the match that was scheduled for Sunday. 

The recent development has led me to guess that Rey will lose to Reigns and this will result in a different opponent for Roman Reigns being set up for Sunday.

The key thing being that Sunday is Father's Day, so WWE could play into Rey losing on Friday by having Dominik avenge his father's loss (and likely beating) on Sunday.

Sky Bet Publishes WWE Championship Market For WWE HIAC 2021

A betting market for the WWE Championship match that will be contested at WWE Hell in a Cell 2021 next weekend has been published by Sky Bet.

As of 10PM BST today, the sports betting firm has the current titleholder - Bobby Lashley - a 1/2 favourite.

A decision in favour of Lashley's challenger, Drew McIntyre, will pay out at odds of 6/4.

On last night's episode of Raw, it was confirmed that this bout will take place inside the cell with the added stipulation that, should McIntyre fail to win, he'll get no more title shots against Lashley.

Observer Star Ratings Betting Results For WWE HIAC 2020

The current issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter contains Dave Meltzer's review of the WWE Hell in a Cell 2020 PPV from Sunday October 25th. With all of the matches given star ratings, Kambi settled all of its Observer-themed markets that were available for the event.

The report had two matches tied in regards to match of the night honours with Sasha Banks' WWE Smackdown Women's Championship victory over Bayley and the main event, which saw Randy Orton defeat Drew McIntyre to become WWE Champion, both receive four-and-a-quarter stars from the newsletter's publisher.

Four-and-a-quarter being the highest amount given on the card meant that Kambi settled 'Exactly 4.25 Stars' as the winning pick in its 'Exact Star Rating of the Highest Rated Match' market.

The winning selection was 13/10.

With there being 'Joint Winners' for best match on the card, Kambi settled a prop market in which customers could have gambled on two or more bouts receiving the highest amount of stars for the show. 

The winning selection - 'Yes' - was 33/20. 

With a match featuring 'Women' having received the highest number of stars in Meltzer's review, another prop - which asked customers whether 'any match featuring only women as active participants' would be 'awarded the highest star rating' - was settled with 'Yes' the winning selection.

As you can see, from the betting, the customers appeared to have sided with the women's match not ending up with more stars than the rest of the card as the winning selection went out from 6/4 to 7/4 while the losing pick dropped from 4/9 into 2/5.

The next best match, behind the two four-and-a-quarter star outings, was the main show opener which saw Roman Reigns successfully retain his WWE Universal Championship against Jey Uso in an 'I Quit' match.

Three-and-a-half stars were awarded to that match. The difference of three-quarters of a star between Reigns/Uso and the two highest scoring bouts on the card meant that 'Yes' was the winning selection in a prop market in which customers gambled on the 'Margin of Victory' of the highest and next best matches being half a star or higher.

As you can view above, the winning selection was at 13/10 from Sunday morning.

Kambi also settled the Over/Under star rating markets for the matches that were advertised in the weeks and days leading up to the event. The lines, stars and results can be viewed in the table below.

WWE HIAC 2020 Betting Favourites

5Dimes' HIAC 2020 Odds For Sunday Morning

There isn't too much to detail in regards to the WWE Hell in a Cell 2020 betting markets from 5Dimes since I first wrote about them yesterday.

One market has been added and another has been adjusted slightly since the post.

The new market is for the Otis versus The Miz contest that was confirmed during Friday night's episode of Smackdown. It has Otis' Money in the Bank briefcase on the line.

When I came across the market at 6:30PM BST yesterday, Otis was a -195 favourite over the +155 for Mizanin. However, when I checked in later on, Miz's price had slid into +135 and the fave was up to -175.

I am now on GMT time. I checked in at 9:00AM today and the market is unchanged.

The market that has had changes made to it is the one for the WWE Championship.

Randy Orton - who was a +175 underdog on Friday - dipped into +170 before yesterday evening while the titleholder, Drew McIntyre, has moved up from -245 to -230.

5Dimes' WWE Hell in a Cell 2020 betting markets were published yesterday.

I first came across them late last night. I had another look through them this morning to see if anything from Smackdown might have changed the odds, but they're still showing the same prices as yesterday.

BetOnline Publishes HIAC 2020 Markets

The betting website - BetOnline - has published markets for the four matches that have been announced for this weekend's WWE Hell in a Cell 2020 PPV.

WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns, is a -2,800 favourite to beat Jey Uso (+900) in their 'I Quit' Hell in a  Cell match.

Another Hell in a Cell match will see Bayley defend the WWE Smackdown Women's Championship against Sasha Banks.

The challenger is a -225 favourite while Bayley is +160.

A third Hell in a Cell match - Drew McIntyre .vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship - has opened with the challenger a +150 underdog. 

McIntyre is -200.

The returning Elias is a -150 fave to defeat Jeff Hardy +110 in their contest.

A Final Look At Kambi's WWE HIAC 2019 Observer Markets Now That We Know The Results

Dave Meltzer's review of WWE Hell in a Cell 2019 was published in this week's issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and, now that it has been released, Kambi's star ratings betting markets will soon be settled.

Going into the weekend, WWE hadn't announced a full card for the PPV. Therefore, Kambi's oddsmakers were limited with what they could offer in regards to the star ratings markets.

By Friday, three matches were announced. A fourth - Bayley .vs. Charlotte Flair for the WWE Smackdown Women's Championship - was confirmed the following day. Therefore, Kambi was only able to cover the four bouts that were set in stone a day before the event.

The Over/Under markets saw two of the bouts go Over and the other half fall Under.

Becky Lynch's successful WWE Raw Women's Championship defence over Sasha Banks was awarded four stars in Meltzer's review. This was tied with the Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns versus Luke Harper and Erick Rowan tornado tag team match that followed on the card.

The Raw Women's Championship market had a line of 3.75, so those who backed the 'Over' will have bets settled in their favour. Looking at the betting, it seems that the bookies were taking action on the eventual winning selection as the odds went from 21/20 on September 18th and were down to EVS on the evening of the event.

Charlotte Flair's WWE Smackdown Women's Championship victory over Bayley was given two-and-a-quarter stars in Dave Meltzer's review. 

With the match only announced over the weekend, Kambi's Over/Under market was installed on Saturday morning. There were adjustments made on Sunday, but - as you can see below - they went the way of the 'Over'.

The eventual winning selection started off at 4/5 but was out to 7/4 by Sunday night.

Meltzer's review started with a great opener. It read 'WWE's Hell in a Cell show started out strong, and ended with a bang. The wrong kind of bang.'

And a bang it was as the main event - which was declared a 'Match Stoppage' - was graded minus two stars by the newsletter's editor.

It should go without saying that the 'Under' turned out to be the winning selection. The line was set at 3.5 stars on September 18th. The market remained stationary right up to Saturday morning when the 'Over' was backed from 19/20 into 17/20. This meant that the 'Under' was pushed out to 21/20 from 19/20.

By Sunday evening, things had changed. The 'Under' had fallen to 1/2 while the 'Over' had drifted all the way out to what turned out to be its rightful place of  31/20.

The best price would have been the 21/20 that was available for most of the weekend.

There were two other star ratings specials for the event. Both were head-to-heads to see which match had the most star ratings.

The first matchbet was available from October 1st and had the two Hell in a Cell cage matches competing against each other.

Lynch .vs. Banks won this one. From the betting, you can see that - despite the first sign of wagering siding with the bouts to get the 'Same Star Rating' - the late movements came in favour of the eventual winner. It went from 7/10 all the way down to 7/20 in the period it was available.

The second head-to-head was created after Bayley .vs. Charlotte Flair was confirmed. The bout was up against the tornado tag team match that tied for best match of the night with four stars, so the ladies were one-and-three-quarter stars behind.

The wagering points to the eventual winner being backed as the price was 3/4 on Saturday morning and was then down to 7/10 almost twenty-four hours later. The market remained at these prices right up to the close later that day.
