A couple of days ago, I read a Digital Spy interview with Big Show where he once again gave the impression that he will face Shaquille O'Neal at WrestleMania 33. Frequent visitor - Andres - read a similar article and got in touch today, so I thought it worth mentioning once again as there are a few of you out there who had bet on there being a Big Show versus Shaq match next April.
The interview was conducted a day before WWE's show that took place from the O2 Arena in September. It went up on October 19th. When asked about the heavily-hinted match, Show states it is 'is going to be a big media spectacle, once we start kicking off the angle, who knows that we're going to do and who knows how we're going to tie it together, how we're going to make it work.'
Betfair.com had published a market shortly after this year's WrestleMania where its customers could bet on whether Shaquille O'Neal is booked in a match at WrestleMania 33. It opened with the 'Yes' priced at 4/5 and the 'No' at 10/11. The market was taken down over the summer following not so subtle hints and the match being 'confirmed' by Big Show. The final prices I have are from August 17th with 'Yes' 8/11 and the 'No' out at EVENS. There had been periods where the 'No' was seeing action and was moved into favouritism.
With Orlando hosting the 33rd edition of WWE's biggest event of 2017, it makes sense for the former Orlando Magic basketball player to do what had been teased numerous times in previous years and battle Big Show in a singles match.
