Goldberg Wins Brock Special And More

Bill Goldberg's victory over Brock Lesnar at the Survivor Series ended up settling two specials markets that were opened in early September.

The first market, that was published on the Kambi platform, gave customers the opportunity to wager on which personality would be the next to defeat Brock Lesnar.

Bill Goldberg was down as a 6/1 shot. In the post published on the night of their release, I wrote:

'If he (Bill Goldberg) and Brock Lesnar ever lock-up again, Lesnar should be the guy winning. Firstly, because Goldberg owes him one from WrestleMania XX. Most importantly, Lesnar's loss should be at the hands of someone who can benefit from the victory and a regular roster member.'

Bad call, huh?

The other market, also published by Kambi, gave clients the opportunity to predict when Lesnar's loss would occur. At the time, the favourite was 'During WrestleMania 32' at 1/2. The option of 'Between Survivor Series but before Royal Rumble' was out at 8/1. Once again, I discounted this selection as an option because I didn't expect to see Brock Lesnar back inside a WWE ring until the start of 2017.

In the fallout from last night, it appears that Bill Goldberg is extending his stay in WWE. The word going around is he'll wrestle once again at the Royal Rumble. The way last night went sort of hints that there will be a third match between he and Brock Lesnar. Whether this is at the Rumble or a later point hasn't been confirmed yet. This news has had a reaction from a betting perspective as Goldberg has now become a second favourite to win the battle royal next year.

His price over at PaddyPower.com has fallen from 33/1 into 9/2.

In my opinion, I cannot see Goldberg winning the Rumble. If his participation on the Rumble card is to be in the battle royal, then the scenario I can see playing out is Brock Lesnar costing him the win.

  1. There was a lot of talk about Bill want his son to get proud of him. So now i think it was his final match that he win in WWE because he complete his duty.
Lozing in Rumble wont damage him. Maybe Lesnar will eliminate him (50/50 booking).

Hope to see Goldberg at Mania

    3. I've sent a message to someone who helped with an issue last month. I can't guarantee this will be settled because of my involvement, but I've given it a go.

I have just checked my betting history and the Shane McMahon to be Lesnar's victor wagers that I placed are still unsettled. They obviously should have been sorted by now, but I guess they haven't got around to it.
