Bill Goldberg : Royal Rumble Betting Favourite

Bill Goldberg is now the favourite to win next year's WWE Royal Rumble with the two betting firms that are still accepting wagers on the battle royal.

Both Betfair.com and PaddyPower.com have him at the top of their betting boards. Both firms have him priced 6/4.

This is the first time I have noticed Goldberg's name on Betfair's list. However, I had been watching the selection over at Paddy Power and witnessed his price plummet from its opening 33/1 since Sunday's win over Brock Lesnar at the 30th Annual Survivor Series.

Shortly after his victory, news websites began to report that Goldberg had extended his stay with WWE and would be working the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. This information led to punters forcing his price down to 9/2 by yesterday afternoon.

Goldberg confirmed his entry into the battle royal on last night's edition of Raw. When doing so, the suggestion of him having one final title run was brought up. I guess this factored into his rise to the top of the bookie's list.

Prices correct as of the time of publishing.

Betfair's WWE markets are found under 'Special Bets' on the sportsbook menu at Betfair.com

  1. I think there could be another shock result in the Rumble. Wouldn't put it past Shinsuke Nakamura as a dark horse. 23/1 currently on Paddy Power

    1. I had a bet on him when the markets were first published, but think he'll be NXT Champion again by then.

    2. They are setting up Nakamura to become champion again in Japan. It'll lead to Joe leaving to the main brand hopefully with a surprise entrant in the royal rumble

  2. I think Lesnar will cost Goldberg in this match. Remember when Goldberg speared Lesnar and Eddie won the title at Royal Rumble? And then one last match at Wrestlemania. Career match. Goodbye Goldberg

    1. Sorry! Royal Rumble Was When Lesnar Got His Own Back. . . My Bad! But Yeah

but Yeah. lesnar (/heyman) Will Say he wants another match against goldberg. Something will happen where either goldberg or management will say he has nothing else to prove and lesnar will ask for a career vs career match and goldberg will accept.

Atleast thats what i hope happens. Itll make goldberg 2-1 but they can play off that lesnar conquered goldbergs career

  3. I bet on Goldberg months ago when his odds were 76.0, it'll be a big win for me if this turns out, have a feeling brock will interfere though

  4. There is a rumor that Lesnar will be in Rumble match too. So i cant see Goldberg as winner right now.
Still think its Balor (if he is ready). Also possible Cena, Rollins

I think Ambrose will work with Undertaker at Mania. Because he powerbomb SD member AJ at SS.

  5. if goldberg was to win the rumble, I think they would of done it by making him a surprise entrant. WWE has a lot of people thinking Goldberg will win it now, so it will be perfect when something happens during the rumble to cost goldberg. Very good chance it could be lesnar, or something like that. I put a few bucks on Goldberg at +5000 but at only +150 I wouldn't bet a single dollar on those odds

    1. I don't think they would have put a name like Goldberg in as a surprise if they're trying to sell tickets to that building.

  6. Goldberg won't win the rumble since he has stated he will be entering it.....it would be too predictable now so there will be something that happens with Lesnar especially if nothing materialises after Survivor Series between them two till Rumble.

    1. I doubt we'll see Lesnar until January.

    2. Maybe the unpredictable thing is for him to win as all us 'smart marks' think he wont? Haha

    3. Well, considering there are evidently people out there betting on Goldberg to win, the 'unpredictable' thing now is for him not to!

  7. Most likely going to be balor that wins , but no one deserves it more than Jericho after the year he's had. He's been amazing to watch (:
