Orton, Lesnar And A Few More Backed In Mania 33 Markets

It has been over a day since the oddsmakers at PaddyPower.com published a couple of markets where their customers could bet on who they believe will leave WrestleMania 33 as champions. I decided to have another look through them this evening to see whether there has been any changes.

There have.

WWE World Champion After WrestleMania

There's no doubt here. The customers expect Randy Orton to be the WWE World Champion as the fireworks go off to close out another WrestleMania in the early hours of April 3rd our time.

The Viper's odds have been snipped from 8/11 while four other options have drifted out.

In yesterday's post, I wrote that the WWE Champion going in will more than likely end up being Bray Wyatt, so - as Randy Orton is this year's Royal Rumble winner - there are only two names worth watching here.

It is now being reported that current WWE Champion, John Cena, could be in a mixed-tag team match at WrestleMania, so this more or less indicates that he's not long for the title.

The Universal Championship match market has had a few price cuts since yesterday.

WWE Universal Champion After WrestleMania

Firstly - Sami Zayn must have a huge fan who bets at Paddy Power as I noticed he was backed in some of the Royal Rumble markets as well. Even though it isn't in line with the direction, I can understand why at least one person fancies the chances of Zayn walking out of WrestleMania as Universal Champion - they are expecting Kevin Owens to retain and meet his real best friend at Mania.

Triple H moving in from 16s to 14 may have been a result of him potentially losing a dance partner after Seth Rollins injured his knee on Monday night.

Chris Jericho seeing action is another that makes sense. I can see customers predicting that the Universal Championship match will be between Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho. Many of us thought the same weeks ago.

And then there's Brock Lesnar.

Lesnar's odds coming in are no surprise to me. Not now.

Firstly, he and Bill Goldberg will wrestle on April 2nd. However, before then, Goldberg is expected to wrestle Kevin Owens at Fast Lane. There are reports that Owens will not enter WrestleMania as champion, so this hints that Goldberg will be crowned Universal Champion in March.

With Bill Goldberg having two wins over Brock Lesnar - and also eliminating him from the Royal Rumble match this past Sunday - it's obviously building to Lesnar getting the title win on the big stage.

The punters have called this one correctly.

Paddy Power's WWE WrestleMania 33 markets can be found alongside 2018 WWE Royal Rumble odds on the company's WWE Betting Page.

  1. 1/4 with 2 months remaining is a suspicious odd

    1. Although if it's Kevin Owens .vs. Goldberg, the latter isn't losing.

    2. Goldberg will spear and pin Kevin Owens and hold the 'worlds fastest Universal title win'.

And the simple reason this HAS to happen, is because of how fast Goldberg beat Lesnar.

I suppose Kevin Owens could escape the ring from the bell ringing and waste time, but that would be daft.
