Another Randy Orton Special That Was Settled This Week

Another WWE betting special that was settled with Jinder Mahal's winning of the World Championship at the recent Backlash pay-per-view was a market that was opened a fortnight ago where customers could have a bet on the date Randy Orton dropped the strap.

The market was released by the oddsmakers from Kambi. The image is from Unibet's WWE Betting Page. It showed that the winning pick 'Before Money in the Bank (June 2017)' was a second-favourite at odds of 6/4.

I backed both the  'During SummerSlam' and 'Between first Raw after SummerSlam (August 2017) but before Survivor Series' options because I was looking too far ahead and was banking on Orton retaining the strap against Mahal at Backlash and then defending the title against Rusev at Money in the Bank.

As the go-home episode of Smackdown - ahead of Backlash - should have hinted, the Rusev plan, if it was for the Bulgarian Brute to challenge for the World Championship, for Money in the Bank is off the table and the company went with Mahal snaring the title from Orton on Sunday and will have the new champ defend the strap against the former titleholder at Money in the Bank.
