Brock Lesnar, The Universal Championship And SummerSlam Betting Update

With the news during midweek of hints suggesting Brock Lesnar is once again contemplating a return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship, I have decided to once again look through the Brock Lesnar and SummerSlam main event specials that are available from the oddsmakers that publish odds for Kambi.

Who Will Be Universal Champ At The End Of SummerSlam?

The market where customers can have a bet on who they believe will be the WWE Universal Champion at the end of SummerSlam 2017 is showing a slight change.
Samoa Joe's odds to be the champ coming out of the event have been snipped from 6/1 into 11/2. The traders have moved Lesnar up from 1/4 to 2/5.
What is worth noting is that Lesnar is still technically retired, so the USADA suspension that he is serving is on ice. If he is to return to UFC, he would have to come out of retirement and be placed in the testing pool and - from that point - the suspension would have to complete. Going by this, he would have to wait until late 2017 or sometime in 2018 to fight. Another thing that's even more important is his contract with WWE is due to expire in the spring of next year. I don't know if WWE would allow him to fight for UFC during its most important business period of the year especially if he doesn't intend to renew his contract beyond WrestleMania.

Next Universal Champion After Lesnar

Another market that is worth looking at is one where clients can bet on the person who succeeds Brock Lesnar for the strap.

Three selections' prices have changed since I last looked through the market five days ago. Braun Strowman has drifted out slightly from 6/4 to 2/1. The other two selections have shortened. They are Samoa Joe (4/1 to 3/1) and Finn Balor (15/1 to 10/1).

Date Of Lesnar's Defeat

The market where clients can have a bet on the time-frame when Brock Lesnar drops the strap is still showing the same pricing as July 17th. You can view the table below:

The favourite is still 'During SummerSlam' at 3/10 with the 'During WrestleMania 34' option at EVS.

Number Of Competitors In SummerSlam Main Event

During Great Balls of Fire, it became clear to me that Roman Reigns versus Brock Lesnar as the Universal Championship match at SummerSlam was no longer the direction. If it was, they wouldn't have scripted the angle after the ambulance match which made it clear that the rivalry between Reigns and Strowman wasn't settled.
Going in, there were reports of a Lesnar .vs. Reigns .vs. Samoa Joe triple threat because of how popular the Lesnar/Joe program had become, so - seeing Strowman booked the way he was coming out of Great Balls of Fire - there was a strong hint that the SummerSlam main event would be a four-way.

Number Of Participants In Universal Championship Match at SummerSlam 2017 Betting July 22nd 2017

The market opened on July 15th with the '4 or More' option out at 2/1. It was moved up to 9/4 by the following day, but has now been snipped to 6/4. The closing angle on the most recent episode of Raw, where Braun Strowman interfered in the number one contender match between Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe - may have prompted the oddsmakers to readjust the price.

Exact Composition

Customers can also have a gamble on what they believe the Universal Championship match will be on the SummerSlam card. The Strowman/Lesnar/Reigns three-way was the early favourite, but it has been on the drift now that the punters have sided with the four way including Samoa Joe along with the three other names.
