It has been a few weeks since I last wrote a post about the two specials. There have been a few changes in the markets since then. In this post, I'll bring you up to date.
Next To Win WWE Championship
I last published a post about this market on July 3rd after AJ Styles' odds to dethrone Jinder Mahl had been cut from 6/1 to 2/1. I wrote down the odds on July 9th, but didn't get around to publish a post about the new pricing. Therefore, I'll point out any changes between July 3rd and July 9th then point out the new difference.Moves Between July 3rd and July 9th
- AJ Styles' price had been cut from the aforementioned 2/1 into EVS
- John Cena, who was a 1/2 favourite on July 3rd, moved up to EVS to make him a joint-favourite with AJ.
Moves Between July 9th and Today
Here are the odds as of today. Price from Unibet's WWE Betting Page
As you can see, Styles and Cena stay as the joint-favourites to succeed Mahal for the WWE Championship. There have six changes made below them.
Selections That Have Drifted
- Randy Orton has moved out from 2/1 into 9/4
- Sami Zayn has jumped from 17/1 to 20/1
- Dolph Zigger has increased from 20/1 to 25/1
Selections That Have Came In
- Baron Corbin from 9/4 to 2/1
- Shinsuke Nakamura from 17/1 to 13/2
- Kevin Owens from 10/1 to 8/1
It's interesting to see the odds for two heels coming in. I've repeated in many posts that, when Jinder Mahal drops the title, it should be against a babyface. Therefore, Shinsuke Nakamura is the only selection out of the three that were cut that is logical.
Date Jinder Mahal Drops WWE Championship
With the 'During SummerSlam' selection moving in, the oddsmakers increased 'Before SummerSlam 2017' from even money to 6/4 at the same time.
The prices remain unchanged today.
