Method Of Decision Betting For Sunday's Main Event

One of the most intriguing betting markets that has been available for the Great Balls of Fire main event has been the 'Method of Decision' offering that was first installed by the oddsmakers from Kambi in June.

I've covered this market in a number of posts during the period where Great Balls of Fire was being promoted by WWE. The majority of moves can be viewed in the table below.

I've been constantly pointing out that a pinfall decision is not something that would make sense based on how the match has been built up on TV. I've made cases for Lesnar winning due to Samoa Joe passing out after refusing to quit (backing 'Submission' would cover this) or having a decision where there is a double count-out. double disqualification or a no contest where the 'Any Other Method' would be settled as a winner.

If there is anything to read into the heavy odds moves across the board yesterday afternoon, then a decision may have been made to have Lesnar win the match. 'How?' is the question.

The oddsmakers have evidently snipped the 7/4 for 'Any Other Method' to 7/5 before republishing the market earlier today. Interestingly, they've moved the 'Submission' up to 15/4 from 7/2. With Joe appearing to be on the losing end of Sunday's bout, I would have also snipped the submission odds just in case the company decides to go with the passing out finish.

I've backed the 'Submission' and 'Any Other Method' when they were at their top prices late last month. Back then, I couldn't envision Samoa Joe having his shoulders pinned to the mat for the loss.

I still can't.

Pricing from Kambi. A couple of websites offering the market can be viewed below:
