SummerSlam 2017 Markets Republished And More

The Kambi oddsmakers' WWE SummerSlam 2017 markets are back online. A market where customers could have a bet on who they believe will leave Brooklyn as WWE Universal Champion has been republished while a new market where clients can punt on the WWE Champion at the end of the show is new.

WWE Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar, was a 1/4 favourite to successfully retain the strap when I last looked over the odds a few days ago. He is now sharing the top spot with Roman Reigns who has been cut from 5/4.

The joint-favourites are 17/20 as of the time of publishing.

A fatal 4-way for the title was confirmed on the most recent episode of Raw. This means that John Cena - who was one of the runners in the market before Monday - has been taken off the board leaving Braun Strowman and Samoa Joe.

Samoa Joe has stayed 11/2 while Strowman has drifted out from 7/2 into 4/1.

On next week's episode of Smackdown, John Cena and  Shinsuke Nakamura will wrestle to determine a number one contender to Jinder Mahal's WWE Championship.

The new market on the websites that publish betting odds from Kambi is similar to the one for the Universal Championship, but is for Smackdown's premier title.

Jinder Mahal is a 4/5 favourite to still be holding the strap at the conclusion of the event, John Cena is in second place at 2/1, Nakamura is 7/2 and a wild card in the 2017 Money in the Bank winner, Baron Corbin, is also 7/2.

  1. Corbin at 7/2 isn't a terrible punt. My prediction is a non-finish on Tuesday night, leading to a three-way at SummerSlam where Mahal uses the Singh Brothers and/or Khali to retain. This will build to Mahal and Nakamura one on one inside Hell in a Cell, which is the next SmackDown PPV on 10/8. Nakamura will win the title there and be cashed in on. However, they could go to Corbin at SummerSlam if they want to put Nakamura (or Cena) over on that show and do Corbin inside HIAC. We shall see!

    1. A few problems with this idea is Hell in a Cell isn't confirmed yet. It was a Raw PPV last year and, with Smackdown having Elimination Chamber, I'm not going to believe HIAC is a Smackdown show until it's official.
