Think Cena Will Defeat Nakamura This Tuesday? Read On...

Here's one for those of you who think John Cena will defeat Shinsuke Nakamura by pinfall, submission or referee stoppage on next week's episode of WWE Smackdown.

Last weekend, the Kambi oddsmakers installed markets where clients could have a punt on certain wrestlers suffering their next defeat. For example, you could have a bet on who you believe will next get a win over Braun Strowman in a one-on-one match.

The favourite is Roman Reigns, but that's a story for a different time.

A market with names of potential victors over Shinsuke Nakamura is one of the four that have been priced up. Nakamura's upcoming opponent - John Cena - is a 1/4 favourite to get the job done.

With Cena and Nakamura squaring off next week to determine a number one contender to Jinder Mahal's WWE Championship, this market is technically a bet on that match.

Unless you believe that Nakamura will go over, that is.

You can read the rules of the markets in the image below:

Next To Defeat Shinsuke Nakamura Betting Odds

There are some rules worth looking at before placing your wager. If John Cena wins by pinfall, submission or referee stoppage, the bet will be good as it states that the match has to be announced with twenty-four hours notice. This qualifies as we would have had a week's notice by the time the bell sounds on Tuesday night.

Like I stated above, this is really for those who believe that Cena will get the W and go on to challenge Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam on August 20th.

For what it's worth, the odds for the other selections in this market are as follows:

AJ Styles 6/4
Baron Corbin 6/4
Brock Lesnar 5/1
Braun Strowman 8/1
Roman Reigns 8/1
Finn Balor 10/1
Kevin Owens 10/1
Randy Orton 15/1
Samoa Joe 15/1
The Rock 25/1
Daniel Bryan 33/1
Triple H 33/1
No Defeat Until After End Of WrestleMania 34 Or Later 15/2

This market can be found on the websites that offer WWE betting from Kambi. A couple of examples can be found below:

  1. Dave glad you brought this market up I was going to ask about the rule "Bets valid only for singles matches broadcast live ......" What do you think Unibets definition of "Singles Matches" is? Do you think a pinfall or submission would count in a fatal four way for example? Or do you think its one on one matches only?

  2. That's what I thought but Ive been turned over before with another bookie with similar wording.

Brock Lesnar at 5/1 not to lose before and during mania in a singles match is appealing in that case... I think they will take the belt off him in a multi man match (maybe SS) then its 5/1 that he wont lose in a singles match with limited appearances and no one really to put over (unless Taker gets his win back GULP)

  3. One extra comment on the above Reigns 1/14 Fav to beat Lesnar in a one on one before or during mania? love to lay £14k on that one.

  4. Don't like the Lesnar bet. He has to do the honours.

    Pretty sure Taker retired.

    1. Yeah he should do the honors but he has to be booked in a one on one match and he only got a few one on one matches left between now and mania. 5/1 is appealing because I think in 6 different dimensions with the same scenario as today maybe Vince books him to lose 2 or 3 times out of 6 dimensions in a one on one match. :) (He's got to get that belt off him to make contract negotiations go smooth and then hes got to keep him strong to make negotiations go smooth)

It's not a cert but its the price that's appealing (VALUE)

    2. Every single scenario I have thought of has Lesnar jobbing before or during Mania, so I can't see any value in it.

  5. Interesting: Im guessing they wont job him out on Raw or allow Corbin to switch brands and cash in so he would have to be booked in a one on one match on the following Raw/Joint PPVs

    No Mercy
    TLC
    Survivor Series
    Clash of Champions
    Royal Rumble
    Fast Lane
    Mania

7 PPVS of which you have to think he misses maybe 2 especially if he drops the belt at Summerslam. DQ or count outs (time outs) dont count... obviously the big 3 in that list would be a danger!

    1. The plan is for him to lose to Roman Reigns. I strongly believe is going to happen whether it's at Mania or before then.

I don't think he loses the title at SS, btw.

  6. I can't help but feel Nakamura is going over. They have saved his main show loss for something but will be annoyed if they give that privilege to Cena.

    1. Well they seem to love the mutli man/women matches at the moment... soooo what if someone interrupted this match and instead of being fined or suspended they are rewarded by being added into t fatal four way. Jinder v Cena v Nakamura v not worthy opponent

    2. They aren't going to have 2 fatal 4-ways for the premier titles on the same show.

  7. I can honestly see Nakamura winning and Cena can ever have a perfect heel turn after or will instead (more likely) raise Nakamuras hand

    1. Cena doesn't have to turn heel.

Whichever guy loses on Tuesday can easily be placed against AJ Styles for the US Championship as both Cena and Nakamura have been teased as potential opponents for Styles.

  8. Cena doesn't cut that promo in Jinder's face if he isn't in the match (babyfaces like Cena tend to keep their promises), so I think there's a legitimate shot he goes over. However, between their obvious desire to protect Nakamura and the SummerSlam poster going around that has both Cena and Nakamura on it with Mahal, I'm guessing the Singh Brothers jump both near the finish to cause a double disqualification.

    1. I used to live and die by the strong babyface vow, but Undertaker promised to win the Rumble this year.

    2. With Cena it's easy, if he says "Legacy" in his promos then he can't lose.

    3. I will be dead annoyed if they give Nakamuras main show first single loss to Cena.
