Rousey And Asuka Backed In WrestleMania Betting Plus More

The odds for Ronda Rousey and Asuka to be either WWE Raw or Smackdown Women's Champion at the end of WrestleMania 34 have been cut in 'Road to WrestleMania' markets that are available from the websites that publish the Kambi Group's WWE betting odds.

Rousey, who has recently made cameo appearances for WWE on the Mae Young Classic episodes that are available on the WWE Network, was 20/1 to be holding the WWE Raw Women's Championship and 15/1 to be Smackdown Women's Champion when I last looked through the markets in August. She is now 3/1 in the Raw market and a 9/4 second-favourite to be Smackdown's titleholder.

I was one of the punters who backed Rousey in both markets when they were both available. I did so because I had read the spoilers about Rousey and the other Horsewomen being involved in the Mae Young Classic and thought that everything could lead to Rousey versus Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34.

I thought it would be worthwhile to bet on Rousey being the champ at the close of Mania in case a decision was made for Rousey versus Flair to be a title match.

Asuka WWE Raw Women's Championship and Smackdown Women's Championship BettingAsuka, who officially left NXT on the episode that was taped weeks ago but uploaded last night, was 3/1 to be the Raw Women's Champion and 6/1 to be the Smackdown titleholder. As of the time of writing, she has been cut into 2/1 favourite in the Raw market and 7/2 for Smackdown.

During NXT TakeOver III, there was a storyline where Kurt Angle and Daniel Bryan were both scouting talent for their respective brands. With Bobby Roode moving over to Smackdown post-SummerSlam, I think it would make sense for Asuka to be brought up to Raw to even things out.

When I saw that Angle and Bryan were going to be scouting talent during the NXT show, just like with the Rousey bet, I placed a speculative punt on Asuka to be either the Raw or Smackdown champ at the close of Mania.

So, I have backed both names, but feel the best shot of a winner is Asuka to be the Raw titleholder coming out of April's PPV.

Here are a few more notes about the two women's championship markets.

  1. Yeah good action, would be nice to have her at 20/1 and 15/1, feels like really good value.
