Champion After Jinder Mahal Betting Odds Update

Shinsuke Nakamura's odds to be the next WWE Champion after Jinder Mahal have been cut from 1/4 into 1/7 in a market that is available from the websites that publish betting odds from the Kambi Group.

I last looked over the market a week before SummerSlam, when Nakamura was set to face Mahal for the title during Smackdown's main match of the night. As we now know, the champion retained his strap with a decision over Nakamura.

On this week's episode of Smackdown, Nakamura won a number one contender's match against Randy Orton to book another title shot against Mahal. This time, the pair will meet on the WWE Hell in a Cell 2017 show.

Realistically, this should be the occasion where Nakamura gets the decision over Mahal, so it's understandable to see his price cut into the aforementioned 1/7.

Nakamura isn't the only option to selection to have his price cut since August. Other names that have moved in are:

  • John Cena from 4/1 to 7/4
  • AJ Styles from 6/1 to 11/4
  • Kevin Owens from 8/1 to 4/1

The traders have increased the odds for the following:
  • Baron Corbin from EVS to 25/1 (thanks to the failed MITB cash-in. I have highlighted this in the image below)
  • Chris Jericho 17/1 to 25/1
  • Randy Orton also from 17s to 25/1

A new name has also been added to this market and it's Bobby Roode. He's 15/1 and I have placed a speculative punt on him simply because the price is too big not to, in my opinion.

Had Roode debuted as a heel, I would have passed. But, as a babyface, I would not be surprised to see him in a feud with Jinder Mahal. I'm intrigued to see if Mahal moves on from Nakamura with possession of his WWE Championship, though.
