WWE Champion After Jinder Mahal Betting Odds Update

I've finally reached the last of the Kambi markets that I wanted to publish updates about before they're eventually republished.

In this post, I plan to focus on the WWE Championship markets where customers could bet on the person who succeeds Jinder Mahal as titleholder and also the special where punters can have a gamble on the timeframe when Mahal drops the strap.

The last time I recorded prices for both of these markets was September 12th. There were a handful of changes when I observed the prices on Sunday morning.

Next WWE Champion After Jinder Mahal Betting Odds

To start off with, the market now has AJ Styles and John Cena as joint-favourites. This is understandable because Styles is the number one contender to Mahal's crown and they're bound to wrestle each other once the Survivor Series - and Mahal's current rivalry with Brock Lesnar - is put to bed. Styles' price has been lowered from 3/1 into 5/4.

John Cena, who was 5/4 when I last checked in, is now 4/5.

There's a good reason why.

Jinder Mahal is now on record as wanting to wrestle Cena at WrestleMania. He said so while doing a tour of India a couple of weekends ago.

Kevin Owens has been snipped from 4s to 5/2 in a move I do find suprising because Owens and Mahal are both heels and I believe it has to be a babyface that unseats the champ. This neatly leads to Bobby Roode, who has dipped from 12/1 into 10/1.

Shinsuke Nakamura, who lost his feud with Mahal and was a 1/4 favourite in September, is the only name to have his odds increased by the sportsbook. He's now out at 3/1.

Next WWE Champion After Jinder Mahal Betting Odds - Date Of Loss Betting

The market where clients can bet on the date of Mahal's loss has seen all but one selection have a price cut.

'Between Survivor Series But Before Royal Rumble' is now 5/4 from 2/1, 'Between Royal Rumble But Before WrestleMania' has moved in from 6/4 to EVS, 'During WrestleMania' has been slashed from 11/2 to EVS (mainly due to Mahal's interview would be my assumption) and any other time from the Monday after Mania has been snipped from 15s into 10/1.

It comes as no surprise to see 'Between 1st Day After SummerSlam, But Before Survivor Series' now out at 7/1 from 2/5. One reason is because there are three more episodes of Smackdown that will cover this period. More importantly - the Survivor Series meeting between Mahal and Brock Lesnar is about them being the champ of their respective brands. It should go without saying that hey can't do this short-term program if Mahal isn't holding the strap leading into - and on - November 19th.

  1. Am I the only one who thinks Cena vs Mahal will happen at Royal Rumble instead of Wrestlemania ?

I just think neither Cena nor Roman will win Royal Rumble next year in Philadelphia

    1. I've thought about it a bit, to be fair. I've even wondered if they go with Lesnar vs Cena at the Rumble.

I always return to Cena or Reigns winning the Rumble, though.

If not Cena or Reigns winning the Rumble, who do you believe it'll be?

    2. I mean I just have this idea of Styles beating Mahal for WWE championship and nakamura Winning Royal rumble

But I can't see them ignoring Cena vs Mahal for WWE championship and also I don't think Vince is too high on Nakamura to give this big Royal rumble victory

But man, it feels weird to see Imagine Cena or Roman Winning Royal rumble in Philadelphia

    3. I remember we both had a similar discussion earlier this year about the Rumble and Philadelphia.

I've been disappointed with how they've booked Nakamura since moving up. Hasn't done him any good and like you said, I don't think they'd give him the Rumble win even though I did have a bet on him as soon as the market was published in January.

The thing is - if anyone believes that it's going to be AJ vs Nakamura for the title, they'd have to consider Nak for the Rumble because it looks like Mahal/Styles could be the program for Dec-Jan (unless they do what you thought have Cena/Mahal at Rumble).

    4. True, AJ vs nakamura might be a non title match but again both are babyfaces and they need to create a new Storyline for it

Or they might even do heel Orton vs Nakamura

  2. Apart from Roman and Cena, who do you think has good chances to win Royal Rumble

    1. I can't see beyond Cena or Reigns at this point.
