In a post published yesterday evening, where I wrote about Kambi's 'WWE Champion after AJ Styles' betting market, I mentioned that there was a report that AJ Styles would defend the WWE Championship against Samoa Joe at Hell in a Cell on September 16th.
The article has evidently forced some people to disregard any chance of Rusev defeating Styles for the championship at Extreme Rules (I didn't think he would anyway). It has also made some believe that Styles will retain beyond August 19th's SummerSlam.
A betting market - where customers can place wagers on who they believe will leave Brooklyn as champion - has kept the current titleholder a a 6/4 favourite. However, he isn't alone.
Daniel Bryan and Samoa Joe have both met Styles at the top of the list with Bryan drifting from 9/10 and Joe having been cut from 5/2 possibly due to the Hell in a Cell 'plan'.
Rusev - who was 7/1 a few days ago - has now been adjusted into second-place at 5/2.
As I wrote last night, I have a feeling we're getting Styles versus Joe at SummerSlam and I'll go so far as to guess that this is where we'll see the title change hands.
The press release from WWE announcing the Hell in a Cell date (if this is what the writer was using for his article) wouldn't tip off that it would be Joe defending against Styles in the cage.
You can view how the other SummerSlam 2018 markets are looking - as of the time of posting - in the image below.
