How Kambi's NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV's Observer O/U Bets Were Settled

This week's issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter was published this morning with reviews of both SummerSlam 2018 and the NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV shows.

Heading into the weekend, the oddsmakers from Kambi published Over/Under markets where customers could place wagers on Dave Meltzer's star ratings for the matches at both shows. In this post, I'll show you the lines for the NXT event and compare them with what the actual star ratings were to see how these markets were settled today.

Undisputed Era .vs. Moustache Mountain
The opener saw the NXT Champions - The Undisputed Era - successfully retain their straps against Tyler Bate and Trent Seven.
The line for the match was set at four-and-a-quarter stars. When it opened, the oddsmakers had the 'Over' at 11/10, 'Exactly 4.25 Stars' at 41/20 and the 'Under' at 9/10.  The bets came in on the 'Over' as it was - as you can in the table below - cut to even money by the following day.

The match was rated four-and-a-half stars, so those who backed the 'Over' were on the correct side.

Velveteen Dream .vs. EC3
Another market which saw the bettors take the 'Over' was the one for Velveteen Dream's victory over EC3.

The line was set at 3.75 Stars with the 'Over' priced at 6/5. It was cut to 11/10 almost twenty-four hours later with the other options -  'Exactly 3.75 Star's (21/10 to 43/20) and 'Under 3.75 Stars' (4/5 to 17/20) - drifting out.
The winning selection for this match was the 'Under'. Meltzer gave it two-and-three-quarters.

Adam Cole .vs. Ricochet
Adam Cole's NXT North American Title loss to Ricochet was given four-and-a-half stars by the newsletter's editor. This fell exactly on the line that the bookies had.
There was no price adjustments made in the times that I made note of this market. It opened with the 'Over' at 11/10, the eventual winning selection at 43/20 and the 'Under' a 17/20 favourite.

Shayna Baszler .vs. Kairi Sane
Another title switch occurred in the NXT Women's Championship match with Shayna Baszler dropping the strap to Kairi Sane.
The line for this match was set at three stars. The punters appeared to have thought the bookie have set the line too low.

The 'Over' was cut from 27/20 into 11/10 after one day. Those who forced the bookie to make the adjustment were on the correct side as the match did indeed beat the line by half a star.

Tommaso Ciampa .vs. Johnny Gargano
The main event, which saw Tommaso Ciampa successfully retain the NXT Championship against Johnny Gargano - was given a high line. This is due to the fact that the pair had back-to-back five star outings at the previous two TakeOvers ahead of Brooklyn.
The 'Over 4.75 Stars' opened at 11/10, 'Exactly' was 2s and the 'Under' was a 9/10 favourite.
Meltzer rated it slightly lower than the previous meetings as it was given four-and-a-half stars. Therefore, it was the 9/10 selection that was the winning selection.

You can view an at a glance view of the line, the stars and the O/U result in the table below. I plan to publish a SummerSlam 2018 Star Ratings market within the next day.

These markets were available from the websites that publish Kambi's WWE match markets and specials. A couple of examples can be found below.
