Sky Bet Publishes HIAC Market

Sky Bet has installed a market for the mixed tag team match that is scheduled to take place at WWE Hell in a Cell 2018 on September 16th.

The match  - which was confirmed during last night's episode of Smackdown - will see Daniel Bryan and his wife, Brie Bella, take on The Miz and his wife, Maryse.

The babyface couple opened at 1/3, but are now at  4/11 while Miz and Maryse kicked off at 9/4, but have been cut into 2/1.

  1. My fault Miz & Maryse dropped down to 2/1. Speculative punt.

Think Maryse pins Brie Bella by cheating when Miz does something to distract Bryan maybe he puts his hands on Brie and Bryan chases him backstage something like that.

Makes sense storyline wise to have Miz and Maryse go over so they can gloat about being the power couple and Miz being superior to Bryan.

Brie gets her win back by making Maryse tap out to the yes lock at Evolution.

Bryan finally beats Miz when the stakes are high maybe a WWE Championship match.

    What do you think David?

    1. I think Bryan has to win after losing at SummerSlam.

  2. I've actually gone with Miz & Maryse myself too, thought the odds have would have been a lot closer. Also, Bryan is facing Miz at the show in Australia in a #1 contenders match so might be where Bryan gets his win.

    1. The storyline should go like this imo.

Miz & Maryse win at HIAC when Maryse gets the better of Brie by cheating. Bryan protected in defeat without being pinned or submitted by The Miz.

Brie gets her win back at Evolution by making Maryse tap to the yes lock.

Miz wins in Australia to become #1 contender by cheating again and we don't get to see Bryan vs Miz again until WrestleMania because Miz refuses to face Bryan after beating him on multiple occasions. Randy Orton and Samoa Joe will end up in a program with Bryan to keep him occupied for a while.

AJ Styles holds on to the title until he breaks CM Punk's record. Think he needs to hold onto the title until the Royal Rumble to break the record. Vince knows how close AJ is to breaking Punk's record and will want to erase Punk's name from the company's record books due to bad blood between the two sides.

Miz beats Styles to become WWE champion and Daniel Bryan wins the Rumble which leads to. Bryan finally getting one last chance to shut Miz up at WrestleMania for the WWE Championship and he succeeds for the fairytale ending.

    2. Based on how he has been booked in the past, I have absolutely no faith in Bryan winning the Rumble and going on to win the title at Mania.

Bryan versus Nakamura for the US Championship I can see.

      Delete
    3. I have no faith in WWE creative's department either (Becky Lynch's heel turn).

I'm going on the fact that Miz vs AJ is in the pipeline for the very near future. Miz saying the WWE Championship has lost it's prestige and the next thing you know he is in a No.1 contenders match for that very title kind of tells you this match will happen for the title as it's unlikely WWE does Face vs Face.

Therefore it's highly likely Bryan doesn't get the win in Australia but he does have to get his win over Miz at some point and I can't see that win happening on a episode of SDLive or it happening at Survivor Series (Raw v SD) or TLC so we are looking at next year tbh.

Think a Rumble win and a Championship win at Mania makes the most sense.

I agree I can see Bryan in a feud with Nakamerica as well lol. Plenty you can do with Bryan to keep him away from the Miz until Mania after the Show Down event.

    4. Darryl Cullip I don't thin a smackdown guy will win Rumble for 3rd consecutive year ? Especially if Charlotte wins Royal Rumble

I think a Raw guy will win this time

  3. Hey david, which match do you think will be for WWE title at Wrestlemania 35 ?

Bryan vs Miz at Supershowdown kinda gives me a hint that these two will wrestle at WM 35

    1. Funny you should ask this.

I requested Samoa Joe .vs. John Cena be added to Sky Bet's Mania 35 main event market yesterday and it was added at 20/1.

There is A LOT working against this being the main event of Mania, but I thought it had a chance of being the WWE Championship match. Although I have gone cold on it since Wendy Styles was introduced to the Styles/Joe feud. Would be poor to have the babyface not win in the end with his wife involved in the program.

    2. By the way - why does Bryan .vs. Miz in Oz give you a hint that it'll be those two at Mania?
It's hinting to me that the program will be done by then.

    3. I mean most people are predicting that Miz wins in Australia, beats Styles for the title around Rumble time and Bryan finally defeats Miz for the title at Wrestlemania.

What's your prediction for WWE title match at WM 35 ?

      Delete
    4. Speaking on Cena vs Joe, i have a feeling Taker - Cena rematch will happen at WM 35 with proper build up

Also, I think AJ Styles opponent at Wrestlemania will be Randy Orton irrespective of WWE title or not

      Delete
    5. If Joe leaves the AJ feud with the title, Joe vs Cena.

      Delete
    6. Orton vs Styles makes a lot of sense.

I don't see any point going with Cena .vs. Taker at a Mania again.

      Delete
    7. Who do you think will be Taker's opponent ?

    8. I haven't even given it a thought.

  4. I don't see Cena competing in a Championship match again tbh. I think he's very focused on his movies as of late as he knows his in ring career is coming to an end at the age of 41.

If he's used then I expect him to be putting the younger talent over on the big stages from now on as a win does nothing for Cena considering the fact he doesn't appear on TV regularly anymore.

    Just my opinion though.

    1. John Cena will compete in a championship match again because chasing the historic title win (in WWE's revisionist history) is a big hook that they will go for.

To be frank, thinking otherwise is mind boggling.

      Delete
    2. I did think Cena would win the 17th but he seems to spend so much time away from WWE now doing his movies and that has led me to have a re-think.

If Cena was to win the 17th then he has to be on TV regularly week in and week out and i'm not sure if that's possible if he keeps on getting movie offers/contracts.

  5. Mike Johnson of PWINSIDER reported on his audio that Samoa Joe was actually planned to win title at Summerslam but decided on DQ finish.

I think they did right. DQ finish played perfectly into the story. I think Joe might win title inside HIAC.

But then again, don't you think it makes sense for babayface to win at the end based on current story.

I think Joe win at HIAC and AJ regains the title back either at Supershow down or Smackdown 1000

    1. As you know, I would like Joe to win the title. I don't know if he will with AJ's wife involved as he would look weak if he leaves the program with no title and not having defended his wife.

There's also a huge thing working against Joe in regards to how they've recently booked the major title feuds/programs. If the challenger hasn't won the title in the first match of the program, they very rarely do by the end. Reigns' win on Sunday was one of the exceptions.

    2. Not my research, I was given this by a friend a few weeks ago:

Mahal - Won title in first title match of feud (Orton)
Goldberg - Won title in first (and only) title match of feud (Owens)
Lesnar - Won title in first (and only) title match of feud (Goldberg)
Lesnar - Won title in first title match of feud (Cena)
Styles (x2) - Won title in first title match of feud (Ambrose, Mahal)
Orton - Won title in first title match of feud (Wyatt)
Cena - Won title in first title (and only) title match of feud (Styles)

Rollins lost first PPV title match against Owens - Had Rematches, Never won title in feud
Reigns lost first PPV title match against Owen - Had Rematches, Never won title in feud
Nakamura lost first PPV title match against Mahal - Had Rematches, Never won title in feud
Nakamura lost first PPV title match against Styles - Had Rematches Never won title in feud
Reigns lost first PPV title match against Lesnar - Had Rematch, Never won title in feud (so far!)

Strowman lost first PPV title match against Lesnar - No rematch, never won title in feud
Joe lost first PPV title match for against Lesnar - No rematch, never won title in feud
Rusev lost first PPV title match against Styles - No rematch, never win title feud

  6. Don't believe everything you hear Abraham.

Imo Joe was never scheduled to win the title considering the whole storyline was built around AJ's wife and kids and it became obvious that the match would end in a DQ a couple of weeks before the match took place.

Im 95% confident Joe's not winning at HIAC either. This feud has gotten way too personal and AJ is now fighting to defend his family's honour as David said if AJ fails to defend his family's honour then he looks bad.

If WWE wanted Samoa Joe as WWE Champion then they would have done the switch at SummerSlam considering it's a much bigger stage/event then HIAC.

I'm all over AJ when the betting opens hopefully Joe will be installed as odds on favourite.

    1. Darryl Cullip DQ finish made perfect sense though. DQ finish was better than Joe winning at Summerslam. They already had 4 title changes at Summerslam, so they might have thought to let AJ retain here.

My guess is Joe wins at HIAC and AJ regains it back

      Delete
    2. Agree DQ Finish made perfect sense considering how the storyline has played out.

Don't forget AJ's close to breaking CM Punk's record so it's very unlikely Joe wins the title only to drop it back to AJ Styles within a few weeks because the only thing that achieves is CM Punk's name remaining in the record books as the longest reigning WWE Champion.

We wont get any title changes at the show-down event imo as it's a glorified house show just like the Greatest Royal Rumble.

    3. Here's my seemingly regular reminder that there is no CM Punk record.

The record is still held by Bruno Sammartino.

      Delete
    4. It still isn't a record. It's WWE spin to suit its own narrative. Bruno is the record holder and I refuse to see otherwise. It's disrespectful to overlook what he did as champion imo.

      Delete
    5. You hit the nail on the head WWE's narrative to spin things.

Punk's reign gets talked about more than Sammartino's these day's it's a different era now Sammartino's was in the 1980's.

Some people will acknowledge the fact that Sammartino is the longest reigning WWE Champion but the majority would acknowledge the fact that CM Punk is the longest reigning WWE Champion in the modern era even more and that's something Vince would want to end imo.

      Delete
    6. The majority would be wrong. As they also would be if they believe that WWE Raw is the longest-running show in TV history.

Sammartino's reign was in the 60s and 70s, btw.

      Delete
    7. I'll be honest I rushed through WWE.com regarding Sammartino and miss read the year. I wasn't even born when he was Champion and neither were the majority of WWE fans tbh.

      Delete
    8. I also wasn't born when Sammartino was champion.

Just like world history that happened before our lifetime, it shouldn't be ignored because it didn't happen in our 'era'.

      Delete
    9. I agree with you David.

Like you said WWE's narrative to spin things. You hit the nail on the head.

      Delete
  7. Even WWE acknowledged Brock Lesnar surpassing Punk's title reign even though the Universal and WWE Championship are different titles.

Goes to show how much they want Punk off the modern era record books.

    1. That's another one that was stupid!!

      Delete
    2. I Agree.

But Vince hates Punk that much and so he should.

Vince want's people to stop mentioning Punk's title reign so he even classes Brock Lesnar's Universal title reign as a WWE Championship title reign.

      Delete
  8. People will still argue that Punk is the longest reigning WWE Champion of the modern era and they would be correct.

That's why AJ will be holding the title until the Rumble imo to break Punk's reign and that way Punk's name doesn't get mentioned again as AJ Styles goes down as the longest reigning WWE Champion of the modern era.
