John Cena's New Shirt : A Tip For Next Sunday?

On this past Monday's edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, an email question raised an interesting point.

There is a newly produced John Cena t-shirt that has the amount of world title reigns he has written on the back.

The person who emailed in the question asked whether this is an indication that Cena will not be booked to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam a week from Sunday as it would - in effect - make the shirt obsolete.

Dave Meltzer wrote a short bit about this in the current edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He notes that 'it must have been a given that Cena wasn't winning when they had them printed'. He also adds, and this is the important bit: 'they change their minds weekly'.

In other words, a t-shirt design isn't going to get in the way of Vince McMahon if he feels compelled to have John Cena crowned world champion for a sixteenth time in eleven days.

A t-shirt? No. A broken nose needing further surgery? Well, that's something else.
