More About The Latest NXT Tapings

More has been written concerning Kevin Owens and Sasha Banks appearing on Thursday night's NXT tapings with title belts scheduled to be defended on next Saturday's NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn event.

In yesterday's news update over at F4WOnline.com, Dave Meltzer wrote the following:

At last night's NXT tapings, they taped shows for after TakeOver with Sasha Banks coming out with the NXT women's belt and Kevin Owens coming out with the NXT title.  This could be an attempt to fool people, and I guess we'll find out Saturday.  Historically, I can only think of one instance WWF ever did that to fool people and every other time it was exactly what it looked to be.  But they haven't done anything like this in more than a decade, because of the nature of syndication being dead and Raw being live.

The other case Meltzer might be referring to is Lex Luger in 1994. I wrote a little about this in yesterday's post.

As far as betting goes, both Kevin Owens and Sasha Banks remain at the prices they were on Friday morning: 9/4 and 7/4 respectively.

I suppose punters are reluctant to wager on Owens and Banks because it, and as the Wrestling Observer editor noted, could be an attempt to fool people.

A deterrent against betting on the NXT Women's Title might be down to the ambiguity over whether Banks' bout against Gionna Daddio was filmed for a future episode of NXT or a dark match.

Even if it is an actual bout that will be aired post-TakeOver, it still doesn't mean Banks will be victorious on the 22nd. Bayley could pick up a win via disqualification meaning bettors who bet on Banks will lose out.

I have bet on Sasha Banks to win, but I am not as confident in her as I do with the other selection.

Finn Balor and Kevin Owens will wrestle in a ladder match. So, there has to be a decisive winner in that one. Originally - and this might still be the case - there was a plan to film the 26th August episode of NXT immediately after TakeOver. It's worth bearing that in mind if you do plan on betting on Owens.

I sense that Kevin Owens WILL win the title in the ladder match. I am predicting Hideo Itami will show up, turn heel on Balor and this will result in a title switch.

It was reported in this week's Wrestling Observer that an appearance by Itami is being advertised on television in Japan (the show will air live over there). In the same paragraph, Dave Meltzer does bring up the possibility of a Sami Zayn or Itami distraction finish.

The spoilers have made me doubt it's going to Zayn as there seems to be a Neville versus Owens feud brewing.
