Betfair Publishes Night Of Champions 2015 Mystery Man Prop

The Betfair Sportsbook has added a betting market where customers can guess who Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns will have as their partner against the New Wyatt Family at Night of Champions this Sunday.

People like Baron Corbin, Erick Rowan and Randy Orton appear at the top of the list. All three have good reason to be in the positions they are in.

Corbin's 1/3 odds are better than the 1/7 being offered by Paddy Power. However, the reason why he is favoured across the two websites is due to a fake leak that had circulated a number of weeks ago. I'm not stating that he won't be on the team this Sunday, it's just that I'm not buying stock in him based on a poor Photoshop job.

Erick Rowan - who has been out injured - is a good shot here. The New Wyatt member, Braun Strowman, wears a black sheep mask so he's already being positioned as the yang to Rowan's ying.

Randy Orton is another good shout considering he had been attacked by the Wyatts recently. It's worth noting that this may have been due to him taking time off. The injury angle could have been done to excuse his absence.

The full list can be viewed below. I have a few more thoughts on the outside chances.

The Rock at 10/1 is intriguing. Did you see Smackdown when Roman Reigns said to Dean Ambrose that he was unhappy that they had gotten a family member involved? He was, of course, referring to Jimmy Uso. What if Reigns mentioning family members was a subtle swerve? It is a long-shot chance.

Chris Jericho at 14/1 is another interesting name. He is scheduled to wrestle Kevin Owens on the WWE show at Madison Square Garden in two weeks. Could his latest televised return begin here?

14/1 for Samoa Joe is also worth looking at. I think this depends on the plans the company has for him at NXT.

Kane at 20/1 might appear like a good punt for a pound. I think he'll be brought back in a different way, though.

Putting £1 on The Undertaker at 33/1 might seem like a crazy idea but - like Chris Jericho - he is also working for WWE in October. The Phenom will wrestle his first house show matches in years when he is part of WWE's tour of Mexico. It's also worth noting that November will be the twenty-fifth anniversary of his debut. I wouldn't be surprised to see him back on TV for Survivor Series. Him returning on Sunday might be too early.

This is the first of Betfair's special prop bets that are written up every month for WWE events. They can be found alongside the regular Night of Champions match markets under 'USA' in the 'Special Bets' section of Betfair.com.

  1. Paddy Power would only let me have 92p on The Rock @ 7/1! Time to sign up for a Betfair account I think!
