Conor McGregor 13/8 To Appear In WWE

Following the news that Conor McGregor is 'retiring' and has been pulled from the UFC 200 card, the oddsmakers at PaddyPower.com have opened a market titled 'Conor McGregor Specials' where customers can bet on his next moves.

Appearing in WWE is one of the options on the board.

The firm is offering 13/8 that shows up in WWE by the end of this year.

I am somewhat tempted to have a bet on this.

And here's why.

As soon as I saw his tweet claiming to be retiring, I figured he was either trolling, in the midst of a power struggle between he and the UFC or a mixture of both.

There's a game being played here and I cannot rule him playing his hand with a ringside appearance at a WWE show just to show the UFC that he has other options. Not that they need convincing.

If you recall, he chose to follow Triple H, Stephanie McMahon and Shane McMahon on Twitter over WrestleMania weekend. With the benefit of hindsight, McGregor following three of the main names in WWE may have been a tactic to stir things up with the UFC at the bargaining table.

Granted, this is wild speculation on my part, so I do not recommend betting on him showing up in WWE by the end of this year if you're looking for a winning punt.

I very much believe that what ever is going on will be ironed out eventually. So, the 1/4 on him fighting for the UFC in the future is a safer bet. The odds also reflect that.

This market can be found under 'Sports Novelties' on the menu of PaddyPower.com.
