The idea proved to be somewhat of a letdown as we had no entrants whatsoever. This hasn't stopped us from giving it another go for the next two WWE pay-per-views.
I've decided to shake things up this time by having $50 be given away in time for people to bet on Payback and then have another competition/draw run immediately afterwards as a lead in to another drawing in time for Extreme Rules.
To be in with a chance of winning You Must Go To This Page And Follow The Instructions.
Anyone who signs up in time for Payback will be entered into the Extreme Rules drawing as well. This will give you two chances to win. Based on the amount of visitors who entered the WrestleMania drawing (ie NONE), you could walk away a double winner!
The first closing date will be shortly after the Payback go-home episode of Raw ends in the early hours of Tuesday April 26th.
Already have an account with 5Dimes, otherwise I'd take advantage of this offer. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteOnce the first matches are confirmed for Payback, I'll post suggestions as to how to badger Titanbet if you don't mind.
Perhaps this sign-up offer would get more of a response with an exciting newcomer to WWE betting like Titanbet?
There are a lot of things I'd like to do, but some of the bookies won't allow me to offer incentives other than their own deals.
DeleteFor example, I found myself in trouble with one firm for doing something similar with the American football handicapping newsletter I ran.
5Dimes works out well for many reasons. Firstly, they have given permission to run with this so I know I'm not breaking any agreement I have with them.
Most importantly, it's all coming from my own money via my 5Dimes account so it's easy to do a player-to-player transfer.
That's not to say I wouldn't consider running similar draws with other bookies, it's just that I need to know if I am not breaking any agreements before I set things up.
As for the thing about badgering Titanbet - that's fine by me. I don't know how effective it'll be because Winner/TitanBet only come along for the major shows so we will need a huge push to get them involved with the minor PPVs.
There's so much I'd like to see happen with WWE betting.
DeleteFirst and foremost I'd like to have one of these so-called "no restriction policy" bookmakers offer this market: Pinnacle, SBO Bet, Bookmaker, Betonline, Bet DSI, Dafabet, BetCris, or Sport Interaction. No restriction meaning they'll basically let you bet any amount and you won't have to worry about being hit by a limit. I don't know how realistic it is to hope for something like this.
Secondly, I want more of the "restriction right reserved, but hardly any actual restriction" bookmakers to get onboard. Currently we have 5Dimes, Bodog, Bovada, and Sportsbet... but there's also TheGreek, Sportbet, 188bet, Intertops, TopBet, and the above mentioned Titanbet. These bookmakers should allow us to bet a reasonable high amount of money on WWE, without being hit by the absurd stake limits you can get @ Unibet, Betfair, bwin, and others.
Thirdly, I want WM to come to Wembley. This might open the eyes of European bookmakers like NordicBet (who are now happy to take bets on 7th tier football matches, but not on WWE).
I don't see why the $50 should come out of your own pocket. You already do enough to promote them. Thank you for your generosity.
Here's an idea Mr Taylor: create your own contest on this blog. Do it like a raffle where anyone who wants to get in have to send you a small fee. The money is then put into one big pot. Winner takes all (or you can do a prize for 1st, 2nd and 3rd if there are a lot of participants). Run a contest for 6 months or maybe even a year where for each PPV you post a spreadsheet of matches we can bet on - create your own prop bets! In order to avoid the smart odds, last day for eligible picks could be on Wednesday before the PPV. I've participated in contests like these on wrestling forums and they've always been fun! You could run an update after each PPV where you show who picked the most right and who hold the lead overall. I think something like this would drum up interest and make the lurkers come out of the woodwork.
I've spoken to a lot of managers of companies that do not offer WWE betting markets and the consensus is they will never consider offering WWE betting on their portfolio due to the nature of the results being pre-determined. One sports manager from a major brand told me this personally. I've badgered him a couple of times since by pointing out all the new firms that have been popping up, but they will not budge.
DeleteI don't want to talk for the firms that already do, but it's sort of obvious that their main reason to offer WWE betting is to bring in a customer base that would never think about betting on other sports. It's an avenue to bring in a different market.
I don't like limits, but they exist for a reason. Once again, this is due to the nature of WWE betting and how the results are pre-determined.
Don't be fooled into thinking that the newer firms will continue offering higher limits. The day will come when they either cut WWE betting altogether or go with the limit approach.
I'm not keen on the idea about the competition especially with it involving money and the time it will take to organise. I can see it getting in the way of what I am trying to do here. This isn't a message board/forum, it's a blog, so there are no lurkers. They're visitors.
