Betting odds for tonight's WWE Draft have just been republished on the websites that have been accepting wagers on the brand extension.
The close to last night's episode of Raw has led to the oddsmakers putting Seth Rollins at the top of their first overall draft pick market.
Rollins is 1/2 to be the first overall pick in the main market. He's also 2/5 in the book that excludes Roman Reigns and John Cena.
The traders have now placed him as a 1/7 shot to be Raw's first pick. They have placed him as a second-favourite behind Dean Ambrose (1/7) to be Smackdown's initial pick of the evening. A winning bet on him being selected first by Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon will pay out at odds of 3/1.
At the conclusion of last night's main event, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins pinned each other at tthe same time. Stephanie McMahon sided with Rollins and suggested that he was the champion. Shane McMahon - and Daniel Bryan - went the other way and claimed Ambrose retained. There was a follow-up on the WWE Network. It showed the referee determine that the result was a draw, so Dean Ambrose remained WWE Champion.
What was played upon during the closing angle was Stephanie siding with Rollins and Ambrose being endorsed by Shane/Daniel Bryan. This is evidently a tease that the respective draft deciders will pick the person they stood up for.
I expect the punters would have seen that as well and predicted that Raw's first pick will be Seth Rollins followed up by Smackdown electing to pick Ambrose.
The wrinkle in all of this is Mick Foley. If you recall - he has endorsed Dean Ambrose in the past and is still a babyface, so don't discount the idea of him going against Stephanie tonight by choosing somebody other than Rollins.
For the past few weeks, I have held the opinion that Roman Reigns will go ahead of Seth Rollins. It could still happen if Foley goes against Stephanie by choosing Roman Reigns for the first pick. The drama between Stephanie, Foley and maybe even Rollins could be enough to cover up the fact the number one draft pick isn't in the building. Smackdown could then select Dean Ambrose and Rollins becomes Raw's second pick.
The markets can be found under 'WWE' on the websites listed on this page.
