I published a post yesterday titled 'What Happens If Brock Lesnar Is Banned From SummerSlam 2016?' where I speculated on how bets will be settled if Lesnar ends up suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission when he, or his people, meet with the regulators to discuss his failed USADA test of June 28th.
It seems the possibility of the New York State Athletic Commission also enforcing a ban, and ultimately scrapping the Lesnar versus Randy Orton bout at SummerSlam, is slim.
Dave Meltzer - on today's Wrestling Observer Radio - mentioned that he had looked further into how this could go and acknowledged that the NYSAC only licenses promoters and not professional wrestlers, so the match - as of right now - looks to still be on the card for August 21st.
Those of you with 'Randy Orton to face Brock Lesnar' betting slips can now utter a sigh of relief.
Shouldn't Lesnar be suspended just like Reigns was by WWE for violating wellness program if he is deemed to have taken something
ReplyDeleteI don't think the company will do anything until the Nevada State Athletic Commission sees him.
DeleteAlso can't see the company suspending him until after SummerSlam if the event falls within the thirty-day window. There is a term in the Wellness Policy that allows WWE to hold off on suspensions in order to complete television storyline commitments etc.
Another thing to consider is whether the thing Lesnar has been popped for is on the banned list on the Wellness Policy. If it isn't on that list, they may have no option but to let it go. Although, I'd bet they end up adjusting the policy to include these items in the future so the Wellness Policy looks on the same level as USADA's.
