For the past few weeks, I have held the opinion that Roman Reigns will go ahead of Seth Rollins. It could still happen if Foley goes against Stephanie by choosing Roman Reigns for the first pick. The drama between Stephanie, Foley and maybe even Rollins could be enough to cover up the fact the number one draft pick isn't in the building. Smackdown could then select Dean Ambrose and Rollins becomes Raw's second pick.
A regular visitor, who hadn't stumbled upon that post yet, just left the following comment on another post:
Any chance of Raw picking Roman Reigns first, then Smackdown choosing Ambrose then Raw picking Seth Rollins? As Reigns at 6/1 is tempting
I agree with Jordan. It's worth a speculative punt at those odds.
There are obviously good reasons not to select Roman Reigns, but the more I think about it, Reigns at 6/1 is a valuable price considering a few things.
Firstly, the betting angle I have been pointing to for weeks: Seth Rollins has had the better of Roman Reigns for all of the TV shows that Reigns has missed due to his suspension. I think it was done to set Rollins up for a fall so Reigns gets one over on him.
Another thing that has crossed my mind today is WWE acknowledging all the mock WWE drafts that the sports media have been publishing on their respective websites. Seth Rollins has been the consensus pick across all of the sites I have been reading this evening (by the way, ESPN picked Charlotte second). We all know that the people in WWE like to be in control of things and I can absolutely see someone deciding that Seth Rollins being the first selection is too obvious. Or, better yet, the plan has always been for somebody other than Rollins and that's why the company brought up the mock drafts on last night's Raw knowing they could point out that media outlets are predicting who will go first, without spoiling their plans.
And then there's how Raw closed with Stephanie siding with Rollins. I can't shake off the feeling that they're making it too obvious that Rollins will be the first pick.
He's still 6/1 as of the time of publishing. I think it's worth a stab in the dark punt.

Although in the video segment between steph and Shane where they agree for a title rematch tonight steph says "it will be interesting to see who wins and who my number 1 pick will be" or something along those lines. Could be throwing people off though
ReplyDeleteI think it'll be another draw tonight.
DeleteSomehow managed to get £50 on roman reigns being drafted before John cena. I hope i made the right choice now haha!
ReplyDeleteI managed £20. Good luck!
DeleteI can see either roman being first pick or raw's 2nd pick after rollins/ambrose. But if raw doesn't pick him i have an eery feeling smackdown will pick Cena after ambrose.
DeleteGoodluck!
Correction - did him versus Lesnar not Cena.
DeleteAnother thing I should have mentioned above is the three guys in the main event should be the top three in the draft whichever order they go in.
DeleteI also did Kevin draft before Sami and also finn before shinsuke and also AJ before Kevin. Seem decent to you?
DeleteThe only one I am unsure of is Finn/Shinsuke because I don't think the latter will be drafted, so you should get your stake refunded.
DeleteI like the other two.
