Here are the latest WWE SummerSlam 2016 betting odds that are available from the 5Dimes Sportsbook.
Underneath each market is a note indicating any changes that have been made to the prices either at the start of today or earlier this evening.
Brock Lesnar -400
Randy Orton +280
No change through Friday
Finn Balor -300
Seth Rollins +220
Balor's odds shortened from --160 to -300 this evening. Rollins' price jumped out from +120.
Dean Ambrose -750
Dolph Ziggler +450
No difference in price since recent updates.
Sasha Banks +180
Charlotte -260
The market has see-sawed today. The day started with Charlotte -210 and Sasha +160. There was a point where Sasha had been backed down to +120 while Charlotte was moved to -160, but the wagers appear to have came in on Charlotte again.
The Miz -400
Apollo Crews +280
Miz started off the day a new favourite with a price of -195. Crews was +155. The sportsbook moved Miz to -400 earlier this evening.
John Cena +300
AJ Styles -420
Styles went from -390 to -420 this evening. Cena made a slight leap from +270.
New Day +220

On a scale of 1-10 how confident would you say you are with the following selections coming in (feel free to do them individually then overall)
ReplyDelete- Sheamus
- Dean
- Enzo n big cass
- Sasha
- AJ
- New Day
- Seth Rollins
I'll pretend you asked me this earlier in the week and I don't know about the odds..
DeleteSheamus 9
Dean 10
Enzo/Big Cass 7
Sasha 10
AJ 8
New Day 5
Seth 5
Sheamus 7/10
DeleteDean 10/10
Enzo/Big Cass 2/10 (that big of a move...something has to be behind it.)
Sasha 2/10 (Charlotte going from +700 to -260....that raises a flag. Sasha could easily keep the belt from a DQ or count out. I think Sasha retains but Charlotte wins via DQ or count out.)
AJ 7.5/10
New Day 3/10
Seth 3/10
Last month on a Thursday big money came in on one or two results but they ended up being incorrect I believe. I wouldn't think of anything about the Charlotte swing unless it stays like this right up until summerslam starts. I'm fairly confident sasha will be the favourite again
DeleteYou know, I really hope people don't lose a lot of cash betting on Orton. Go with your instincts people. You know Brock is winning. Even if he wasn't on the upcoming game cover, there's no way he loses to someone like Orton. The UFC scandal is pretty much a moot point since WWE has gone out of their way to say Brock doesn't get tested. Hopefully we see Brock as a huge favorite by Sunday afternoon so people can bet accordingly and not end up losing their shirts.
ReplyDeleteMy instincts have been telling me Randy Orton is winning.
DeleteI hope you dont lose a lot of money being over confident on Lesnar before (what it looks like) any smart money has landed on the match.
DeleteI keep telling myself "how does the WWE look even more strong?" Answer: "Have the guy who won in the UFC, lose in the WWE."
DeleteCan I ask why though? Is it just a feeling or are you baaing it on any thought process? You have to look at things from the perspective of Vince's mindset when it comes to future booking.
DeleteWould he really have someone like Orton go over Brock as opposed to saving a Brock loss for someone who would benefit from it- say a Kevin Owens or someone else where the rub would be epic?
An Orton win doesn't do much. Yeah, it gives some validity to the blue brand but it isn't like Orton is heading to the main event title picture anytime soon. It has been reported he is probably moving forward to a feud with either AJ Styles or Bray Wyatt.
I've put my reasoning in many posts over the past month plus. Look around.
Delete@Eric Wetz
DeleteIt isn't so much over confidence on my part in terms of Lesnar as much as it is common sense. Brock is WWE's biggest name (with The Rock and to a lesser degree these days, Cena) in terms of exposure outside of just pure wrestling fans.
Vinny Mac is not dumb. He knows that once someone goes over Brock, that person will get a huge rub. Why would he waste it on Orton? Orton is at the back end end of his career as opposed to the start. The rub could go to someone like Kevin Owens or Bray Wyatt. There's no real reason for Orton to go over because there's no real future planning when it comes to him. Orton is similar to Jericho now- a veteran to be used in feuds to make others look good and engage audiences on newer talent.
@David Taylor
DeleteOh I know. I've read some of your past posts on it. I was just wondering if you had any new thoughts besides the UFC-wellness thing and the idea that Orton needs to look strong as a viable face of Smackdown argument. I'm not discounting either of those arguments as they are good points.
I'd love to see Randy win but here's how I looked at it. I always felt Reigns was Vince's choice to finally beat Lesnar. After the suspension, it leaves me wondering if they have decided to head in a different direction. Do I think they'll bestow such an accomplishment on Orton? Unfortunately not.
DeleteThe big picture is the NSAC meeting on Tuesday. If Lesnar is banned for two years, will WWE want the news stories to include the fact that he won at SummerSlam?
DeleteThere's a handful of other reasons like to pacify the locker room to make it look like Orton winning is a punishment for failing USADA tests.
I'm not buying into all this Goldberg stuff, but it can't really be ruled out if they shoot an angle at the video game thing tonight.
Naw, it won't go down like that. If they do shoot some kind of angle at the 2K17 showcase with Goldberg and Lesnar, that's even more of a reason Lesnar will go over. But in terms of what you speculated, they keep harping on the RKO and all so no way will they have Orton win via someone placing him on top of Lesnar.
DeleteThe better idea, if we are going with your though of Goldberg showing up, would be him showing after the match. If this is indeed the last match on the card, Lesnar destroys Orton and then Goldberg's music hits. They stare one another down to end the PPV.
I think everyone should take the staredown between Orton & Wyatt from SD into consideration. Orton could hit the RKO, have Lesnar beat, Wyatt interferes & thats how Brock wins. Orton v Wyatt at Backlash
DeleteYes, Marc. This one is something I think might happen as well and told somebody on Twitter that there was more chance of this happening than a Bill Goldberg run-in.
Delete- Sheamus 7/10 - having lost twice in a row on Raw, will they allow 3?
ReplyDelete- Dean 9/10 - don't think they will give win to ziggler
- Enzo n big Cass 6/10 - think this is Jericho and KO putting these over - but could go either way and do this in a rematch
- Sasha 9/10 - doesn't make sense to take title straight off her, think she will keep until dropping at WM to Bayley
- AJ 6/10 have a feeling this will take it to a 1-1 and then a decider at next ppv
- New Day 7/10 I think David is correct about Big E returning and the cereal, these are way over right now. Only doubt is they don't need the titles, and after a year, they may switch
- Seth Rollins 7/10 I think Seth is booked to win, maybe help off Stephanie. I'm just not thinking McMahon will go with Balor this quickly, possibly Survivor Series with him chasing.
Overall I'd give it a 7/10
With AJ that was meant as 5/6 out of 10, cena may get the win to take to a decider
