4 Names Backed In Brock Lesnar Special

Four names have been backed to be the next person to deliver a defeat to Brock Lesnar.

Customers of websites like Unibet.com and the names on this list have been able to bet on the person who gets a decisive win over The Beast on a live WWE broadcast since the start of this month. I published a post on September 3rd where I went through the entire list of names. I have had another look through the market today to see where the customers have gone a-punting.

Finn Balor
Balor's odds have been cut from 17s to 14/1. The market was published before Balor went down with an injury, so I assume the wagers came in from people with the idea that Balor will face Lesnar at next year's WrestleMania. I'm not sold.

Randy Orton
Randy Orton's price has tumbled from 25/1 to 8s. And there's a good reason why. Orton, if he is medically cleared, will be Lesnar's next opponent. The pair will square-off in Chicago for a WWE house show a week from Saturday. The catch? Well, firstly Orton has to win this match decisively. Disqualifications won't count per the rules. The other thing that means a bet won't win, if Orton is declared the victor next week, is that the match has to air live on WWE programming. The only way this can be achieved is if it's on the WWE Network and it won't be. Lesnar is making this one-off appearance as he's working off a house show date from his contract.

Kevin Owens
The current WWE Universal Champion's odds to get a W over Lesnar have dipped from 8/1 to 6/1. As he's at the top of the tree, I can understand why there has been some interest in him and Brock Lesnar meeting up down the road.

Shane McMahon
Shane McMahon's price has fallen from 11/1 to 4/1. I think Shane McMahon shouldn't be overlooked because I would not be surprised if he is the person who faces Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33. The odds being readjusted indicate that I'm not the only one who believes this. The bet would still need McMahon going over, though.

With the odds for the the four names listed being cut, the compilers have moved out the prices for two selections on the list. Roman Reigns has moved up from 3/4 to EVS and Seth Rollins has been increased from 11/1 to 14/1.

The odds can be viewed in the table below.

  1. Surely, Brock Lesnar will face Bill Goldberg at Wrestlemania 33! Although, he probably will not lose to Goldberg.
Shane McMahon is a decent selection because they might be building towards something...

    1. I wouldn't say that it's a sure thing.

The Goldberg/Lesnar thing was a campaign to promote the video game.

I agree with you about who should win if it does happen.

  2. They used the video game as a catalyst to help bring the Warrior back and it took a solid build of a year before he entered into a WWE ring again. I think that they are doing the same for Goldberg. The timing should be around the same- a year or so! Goldberg was never going to appear at Summerslam! You can bet your bottom dollar that the WWE were cognisant of the loud Goldberg chants that were heard during the closing moments of Summerslam!
They are running out of opponents for Lesnar and Goldberg is a Wrestlemania calibre opponent for him. In fact, Goldberg is perfect fodder for Lesnar before they allow him to have another run with a WWE title again. Bill Goldberg is fit and ready to go as well. WM will be a huge pay day for him. He won't turn his nose away from that kind of bumper pay packet for a days work.
Maybe Shane McMahon uses him as a hired hand in a potential feud against Lesnar??

  3. What are your thoughts on Samoa Joe? Personally I have him slotted in at number 2, just behind Roman.
