Rumble 2018 Odds Notes For May 8th

With things being slow in between Payback and Backlash, I've had a look through the 2018 WWE Royal Rumble outright winner market that's available from the Kambi oddsmakers to see whether there have been any changes since the last time I looked at them a month ago.

I've noticed two price cuts.

Firstly, Kurt Angle's odds to win the battle royal have been lowered from 50/1 into 33/1.

I can understand why he has been backed. Since the market was published, Angle was inducted into the Hall of Fame and has now become a regular fixture on WWE TV as the Raw General Manager.

With that said, I highly doubt he'll win next year's Royal Rumble especially if the Roman Reigns .vs. Brock Lesnar plan is still on the table in January.

Another name who has been backed since April 18th is the current number one contender to the WWE World Championship - Jinder Mahal.

Mahal is now an 80/1 shot to win the Rumble. The previous price I have is 150/1.

The move coincides with Mahal being moved into the title picture after being traded to Smackdown. I guess a punter - or punters - have taken 150s in the hope that Mahal's ascension to the main event carries through into early 2018.

Roman Reigns is still a 2/1 favourite to overcome the field.

When available, the Royal outright and final four markets can be found under 'WWE' on the websites that publish odds from Kambi. A couple of examples are below:
