Jinder Mahal's WWE SummerSlam Odds Lowered

Jinder Mahal's odds to successfully retain the WWE Championship at SummerSlam 2017 on Sunday have been snipped in a market that's available from the 5Dimes Sportsbook.

When I checked in last night, ahead of last night's Smackdown, the titleholder was a +160 underdog. This is the same price he had been since August 5th. He is now down to +155.

As a result of the change, Shinsuke Nakamura has drifted out to -195 from -210.

I think there's a good reason why Mahal moved in overnight. It has to do with Baron Corbin failing to cash in his Money in the Bank title contract during last night's edition of WWE Smackdown.

There were many people speculating that the cash-in would occur following the SummerSlam match. They were of the opinion that Nakamura would win the strap only to immediately fall to his nemesis, Corbin.

This obviously cannot happen now, so the punters have now probably banked on Mahal thinking that Nakamura will not be given the W on Sunday.

I've written in previous posts that I believe there is a chance Nakamura walks out of Brooklyn as WWE Champion. My theory is based on the fact that WWE is travelling to Osaka in the middle of September and it would not surprise me if the plan is for Nakamura to return to Japan as the champ.

It's business as usual in regards to the two other SummerSlam match markets that are available on the 5Dimes website.

The Raw Women's Championship market still has Alexa Bliss and Sasha Banks both at -120 each.

Brock Lesnar remains a -280 favourite to successfully retain the WWE Universal Championship in the fatal 4-way match. 'The Field' is +200.

Anyone looking to back the other participants individually can find them as follows: Samoa Joe +300, Roman Reigns +700 and Braun Strowman +1,000.

Odds correct as of 8am BST. The latest can be found on 5Dimes' Betting Board.

    1. Will answer this as soon as there are odds available from at least one sportsbook.

  3. The only problem we have here, is that I can 100% see Corbin attacking Nakamura (then Jinder) during the match...

Perhaps the Japan event will be a triple threat between Jinder/Shinsuke/Corbin and Shinsuke can win there ?

    1. I doubt they'll have the title switch over there if it isn't on TV/Network.
