World Cup Match Markets From Sky Bet

Sky Bet has installed match markets for the confirmed bouts that are scheduled to take place in the World Cup tournament at WWE Crown Jewel this Friday.

I came across the markets this morning. One of the them has been slightly adjusted since then.

The Miz is a 1/6 favourite to defeat Jeff Hardy in the Smackdown side of the bracketing. The other Smackdown match market has Rey Mysterio at 1/2 to go over Randy Orton (6/4).

Bobby Lashley - who was inserted into the tournament as a replacement for John Cena - is a 3/1 outsider for his meeting with Seth Rollins.

The market that has been adjusted since I wrote down the odd this morning is the one for Dolph Ziggler versus Kurt Angle.

Date/Time
Kurt Angle
Dolph Ziggler
30/10 8:50AM
1/6
7/2
30/10 12:50PM
1/5
10/3

As you can see, Ziggler's odds have been snipped as he is now 10/3 after previously being 7/2. With Ziggler moving down, the bookies have moved Angle to 1/5 from 1/6.

In yesterday's post, I noted that I still had a feeling The Miz has a good chance of winning the tournament. However - after watching Raw, I couldn't help but think that Lashley has a chance of winning to set him up as a potential challenger for Braun Strowman, if he were to win the Universal Championship on Friday. I can also see Lio Rush ramming the 'Best in the World' thing down everyone's throats.

I took a gamble on Lashley in the outright winner market as he was 10/1 when I found him (he's 8/1 now).

Another thing I found myself doing - while catching up with Raw - is I began to entertain the idea of Kurt Angle going on a run in the tournament, but falling at the final hurdle. The old-timer going through the tournament would be reminiscent of Jake Roberts' King of the Ring 1996 before he fell to Steve Austin in the final. I'm sure there are other examples, but that's the one that springs to mind.

The fact I've started to discount Seth Rollins' chance of winning, have considered Lashley and fantasy-booked Angle making the final should indicate just how unsure I am about the Raw side of the tourney.
