Dave Meltzer Talks About Kambi's Survivor Series Star Ratings Lines

Dave Meltzer shared some thoughts about Kambi's WWE Survivor Series star ratings lines when he and Bryan Alvarez recorded today's episode of Wrestling Observer Radio.

When talking about the line of 4.25 stars for the Brock Lesnar .vs. Daniel Bryan match, Meltzer mentioned that he felt 4.25 was 'awfully ambitious'. He brought up that despite Daniel Bryan having the ability to pull off a match of that calibre, it'll be all about Brock and what he would be willing to do with a possible UFC fight on the horizon.

In one of yesterday's post, I noted that I felt that the line was too high because I am of the opinion that this will end up being a short one-sided match similar to Lesnar's bout with Braun Strowman at Crown Jewel.

When I checked in this morning, Kambi had cut 'Under 4.25 Stars' from yesterday's 3/4 into 1/2.

Lesnar .vs. Bryan
Over 4.25 Stars
Exactly 4.25 Stars
Under 4.25 Stars
17/11 3:50PM
6/4
7/4
3/4
18/11 9:00AM
2/1
2/1
1/2

Those who think that the match will be better than I envision can now find 'Over 4.25' and 'Exactly 4.25' at 2/1 apiece. They were 6/4 and 7/4 respectively yesterday.

Another line Meltzer brought up in today's show is the one for Charlotte Flair versus Ronda Rousey.

The editor noted that he felt the bar of four stars was 'also very ambitious'. However, he noted that Flair and Rousey were working on the match from Wednesday and expect them to have a good outing.

One thing Meltzer has brought up about Ronda Rousey many times over her career is that you should never bet against Ronda Rousey because those who do are wrong more times than they're right. He didn't mention it in today's show, but I kind of was expecting him to say it when he was talking about the line for this match.

As far as the market is concerned - the odds remain as they were yesterday with 'Over 4' at 23/20, 'Exactly 4' at 41/20 and 'Under 4' a 17/20 favourite.

The only other match he talked about was the third of the early markets that were published early yesterday evening - Seth Rollins .vs. Shinsuke Nakamura.

Meltzer stated that - at first - he felt the line of four stars was a little high, but then considered how Seth Rollins would be motivated for it due to the fact that this would be the first time he and Nakamura meet.

Despite having initial doubts over the line of four stars, he feels that Rollins and Nakamura could have a really good match.

The market is unchanged from yesterday with 'Exactly 4 Stars' at 2/1 and then the other two options both at EVS.
