Asuka .vs. Becky Lynch Rumble Market Published

Sky Bet has published a betting market for a new match that has been added to the 2019 WWE Royal Rumble card.

The bout, which was revealed on the most recent episode of WWE Main Event, will see Becky Lynch challenge Asuka for the WWE Smackdown Women's Championship.

As of the this morning, the bookies have listed Asuka as a 1/2 favourite. Lynch is 6/4.

This is another market that I doubt I'll bet on. Logically, Asuka should retain. However, I think there is a chance Lynch gets the decision by disqualification following interference from Nia Jax and Tamina as retribution for the 'receipt' Lynch delivered to Jax backstage during Sunday's TLC event.

I don't believe this match taking place should matter in regards to the Royal Rumble winner.

As I've written before, I am of the opinion that the WrestleMania 35 main event should be a three-way with Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair. This is despite reports pointing to the match being a singles meeting between Rousey and Lynch.

One way to get to what I'd like to happen is for both Charlotte and Becky to be joint-winners of the Rumble match.

If my guess is incorrect, and it's Rousey .vs. Lynch, the route to get to the match would have to be via a Royal Rumble win for the latter. Therefore, Lynch being in the Smackdown Women's Championship match shouldn't mean there's no chance whatsoever of her being in the battle royal. Title challengers, who have failed to win on the undercard, have appeared in the male version of past Rumbles.

Charlotte Flair is Sky Bet's favourite to win the Royal Rumble. Her odds are currently at 4/5. She was 8/13 ahead of Sunday's PPV, so has drifted out slightly.

  1. I think you're right. Charlotte and Becky as joint winners is highly likely

Also who do you think will face Bryan at Royal Rumble... I thought AJ first but Mustafa Ali push is interesting

    1. Haven't really given it much thought, but Ali would make sense as he got the pin against him on Tuesday. However, 'Bryan .vs. Ali' isn't a 'new match' if we're going to take what the McMahons said on Monday literally.

    2. Yeah but AJ vs Bryan happened 4 times this year.... But do you think a roll up victory at TLC is the end of Styles - Bryan feud

    3. This all happened before what the McMahons promised on Monday, so I think they're going to have to move away from Bryan .vs. AJ for the time being just to get this 'new match' thing over.

(I don't think it's going to last, but they'd have to try and make it seem genuine initially)

    4. If this new match thing is real then IMO Undertaker should have different opponent other than HBK or Cena

Who do you think will face Taker at WM 35

    5. HBK and Cena were never in my mind as potential Mania 35 opponents for Taker because - now that we've seen these matches at Mania - there's no reason to go back there.

If Taker is to suffer another loss at Mania (and I don't think he will), it should be to someone up and coming.

    6. i saw your post of people's odds to face Undertaker at WM 35 and Styles was favourite

Is it possible that we can see a new opponent like Styles, Balor or Strowman to face Taker

    7. Always possible. I think we both agreed on Strowman months ago when he was a heel.

    8. Yeah, Balor will be cool but i have a feeling that Balor will face Ambrose for IC title at Mania. Fresh match

As for Styles, are those rumors true of Styles facing Orton at Mania. Meltzer never mentioned it.

    9. I've seen people think it'll be AJ/Orton but not sure where it came from.

Styles has said he'd like to wrestle Orton in interviews, so it could have sprung from that.

    10. Yeah, also these two didn't have a feud yet. Also Orton's current character of destroying people's favourites suits this feud
