In a post published yesterday, I pointed out that there has been a tease of a 'Big Surprise' that will take place at the Royal Rumble.
I listed three things that I would consider a surprise and am now starting to talk myself into believing that one of these scenarios will play out.
Looking at the reported construction of tonight's card, I think we're getting a Becky Lynch win in the men's Royal Rumble.
The WWE Smackdown Women's Championship match is apparently going on first and the men's battle royal is reportedly the main event.
I can see Becky Lynch not win the title from Asuka in the first match of the main card, Charlotte Flair win the women's Royal Rumble then Becky Lynch enters the men's match at thirty and wins to set up the triple threat match between her, Charlotte and Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 35.
I don't know how this works.... Fans might turn on Becky
ReplyDeleteWas just saying the same thing to someone. I don't care, but can see a meltdown on the horizon!
DeleteI think Becky loses to Asuka after the women's rumble to lessen the crowd unhappiness when Charlotte wins. They'll probably cheer Charlotte then, but if Becky lost earlier and didn't appear in the women's rumble, they will boo the hell out of Charlotte.
ReplyDeleteBecky .vs. Asuka is reportedly the first match on the main card.
DeleteScrewing up the men's division just to set up a triple threat that could easily be done through other avenues? I don't think so...
ReplyDeleteI think with the women's match going first, Becky loses, then enters the woman's rumble after losing unfairly and wins it. I think this all points to her winning the women's (or at least a share of it) but not the men's.
ReplyDeleteCo-winners of the Women's Rumble: Charlotte & Becky.
ReplyDeleteYou're old school alright. That idea is soo 2018!
DeleteLynch losses her match via submission and is suppose to win the royal rumble? I don't see it, we'll have to see how the storylines develop over the next couple hours.
ReplyDeleteDid you see Seth Rollins coming back to win the title at WrestleMania 31 after losing to Randy Orton or did you see Bret Hart come back to beat Yokozuna in the main event of WrestleMania X after losing to Owen in the opener?
DeleteThere's like a history of people losing and coming back at the end of the show...
I personally think Reigns is more likely than Lynch but that's just me. Hoping neither actually happens. Would be cool for Reigns and the pop but that would just build Reigns up too much for Wrestlemania once again.
